I do not believe there is a finer example of a 1946 Cushman around. Perhaps there are equals, but none better.

If you have ever wanted to feel like you were 14 years old again, I am selling my reverse time machine that will let you recapture your youth! Almost every boy's dream in the 40's and 50's was to own a Cushman scooter to cruise on, for paper routes, to do a little riding before a license was possible, or to just have loads of fun. This scooter will provide all of that and more.

I spared no cost on this frame up restoration that was completed 4 years ago. This is a model 54 and has the rare two speed transmission and clutch. This scooter was one of the first 200 scooters produced after WW II, as it does not have a VIN # and is titled under the engine number. The scooter has a clear Idaho title.

This is a great find if you have been in the market for an early and rare Cushman. This scooter rides perfectly, starts on the first or second kick and this original one cylinder (rebuilt) Husky engine produces 4.6 horsepower, will go about 40-45 m.p.h., and gets about 80 m.p.g.

All new parts used in restoration are from Dennis Carpenter Cushman and the new parts include; new body, new chrome bumper rail, new front fender, new Cushman label floor rubber, new Cushman label tires, new seat, new hinge lock, new gas tank and more. Also in place is the rare metal lubrication guide that is riveted to the underside of the seat (almost always missing).

Ifr you want to display this scooter - fine. If you want to show this scooter - fine. But if you want to ride this scooter be prepared to have a smile on your face, and get lots of thumbs up and smiles from others. In the past three years this great example of an exceptional Cushman has taken 14 awards at car/bike shows in Idaho, Utah, Montana, and Wyoming, @ "Sponsor's Choice", "Best Motorcycle", and "Best Special Interest" categories. The scooter gets more attention at car shows than my cars, and I have some pretty nice cars, but many people have never seen anything like it and always have lots of fun questions, and often want to have their pictures taken with the Cushman.

I still ride the Cushman around the neighborhood about 4-5 times a summer, but arthritis has taken its toll on my hands and I can no longer work on the Cushman. I need to adjust the external clutch linkage, rewire the headlight and taillight, and I need to replace the transmission oil seal that is leaking (available through Dennis Carpenter at about $8.00) and the jobs should take about 2 hours total, but because I can no longer do the work, I am selling with the three repairs being needed, if indeed the new owner wants to fix them.
