BMW R-Series description

Please click "watch" as I will post video soon of it running and riding.   Please see the High Resolution Photographs for visual condition and Title.

This motorcycle is 42 Years old, maintained but unrestored.  The fuel system is clean and the tank interior has the factory finish as shown in the attached photograph.  It has a new glass-mat battery installed.   It has strong compression and makes good power.  It starts, runs and rides as expected.  The transmission shifts well, clutch works well. The brakes function as expected.  I have owned this R90S since 1999. When I bought it from the original owner, the odometer showed 9,000 miles.  It now reads 13,573 miles. The original BMW Magura hand grips should be replaced, and the correct originals are still available from BMW.  While parked it leaks a small amount of oil, nothing serious. It does not smoke or make any unusual sounds.

Originally purchased at Staten Island Cycles outside New York City.  It has always been stored inside since new.

This R90S without question, holds the original BMW trump card of Cafe Racer cool.   Designer Hans Muth and his design team definitely had their factory street racer visual and functional designs locked down (factory front fairing, hump-back seat.) It's an incredibly beautiful design which has stood the test of time.

The Dellorto equipped (exclusive to the R90S) premier 900cc engine makes for exciting acceleration and a top speed of 125+ miles per hour.

This is a 42 year old vintage bike, maintained but unrestored. The factory silver smoke Glasurit paint is preserved and presents well. It is appropriate for a motorcycle this age which has been stored inside since new.  It has a few flaws, but presents honestly and attractively.

Original preserved and unrestored factory built and painted bikes will always eclipse restored motorcycles in value.

Please check back during the auction as I will post video soon of it running.

I have other horses in the stable, and am thinning the herd, so check my other auctions for uncommon German and Italian motorcycles.  I have been riding and collecting interesting motorcycles since 1987.  Time changes everything, and I am finally ready to let someone else enjoy owning some of them.

If you have the funds available for purchase, and would like questions answered I will return phone calls to U.S. numbers.  Please be a serious buyer if calling.  Leave a voice message at (nine O for) 23for- sixtyseven eighty.

The R90S is the most desirable and most valuable of all type 247 boxer BMW's.

This is a no reserve auction.  Please do not bid unless you intend to own it.
Again, please click "watch" as I will post video soon of it running and riding.

The R90S BMW's are increasing in value and becoming more appreciated by new collectors every day.  This low production (just over 6,000 worldwide) first year 1974 R90S is unusual to find in this condition to say the least.  Make it Yours !

Mon, 03 Jun 2013

Corbin has announced that all vendor spaces on the lot are filled for their 4th Annual Rider Appreciation Day, held this year on July 5 and 6. Last year, Corbin had thousands of riders show up to help celebrate our country’s birthday and take part in the festivities and expects a much bigger crowd this year, since the city has approved the Hollister Rally and the event covers two days. Mike Corbin reported that the city is feverishly working on the final details in order to make this year’s Hollister Rally one to remember.

French Moto Website Anticipates Versys 1000 at EICMA 2011

Mon, 24 Oct 2011

Musings of a liter-size engined Kawasaki Versys have circulated the web for a few years now, as loyalists of the likable Versys 650, as well as displacement-driven riders waiting in the wings, have pondered the potential of a more powerful adventure bike from Kawasaki that’s in the same league as BMW’s R1200GS and Yamaha’s Super Tenere. Alas, nothing of the sort has ever left the lips of Kawasaki, let alone go into production. Recently, however, the French motorcycle website, Moto-net.com, has produced convincing images that appear like photos of a complete Versys 1000, including matching hard luggage.

Could This Innovative New Light Save Your Life?

Thu, 19 Aug 2010

Everyone knows brake lights are to alert drivers behind you, but what about when you roll off the throttle, and tailgating drivers fail to notice your decreasing rate of speed? Would you like them to know you’re decelerating, rather than potentially becoming another statistic? Nikkos Designs of Fort Myers, Fla.
