This is a European model imported from Germany - speedo is in KM. I purchased this bike this past riding season, put $1,000 into it and have decided it is not the antique bike for me. 58,000 KM on the clock, speedo works well and everything on the bike works and it's a daily rider. This bike has a dealer replacement engine, so I assume when this bike was new BMW replaced the engine through a dealer. Frame and nameplate match. Comes with a set of Krauser bags. Serviced in June - new filters, fluids, valve adjustments, fork oil, etc. The bike is in good condition and reasonably priced considering some of the barn finds I've seen for sale at $3,000 plus. 2014 BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy Announced
Fri, 20 Dec 2013After holding three events in the southern hemisphere, the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy will go north in September 2014, to Canada. Billed as the GS riders’ Olympics, the biennial competition pits teams representing different countries against one another in a number of challenges testing their riding skills. Previous competitions had competitors riding the F800GS but for 2014, the GS Trophy will switch to the liquid-cooled R1200GS.

Thu, 22 Aug 2013Take a 1991 BMW K100, put in a whole load of creativity and 99 hours of effort and you get this: the Works on Bikes EX BMW. Called the EX BMW because the two guys and girl behind this custom from Milan only kept the engine and part of the original frame. It uses wood, steel, laser machining, CNC and probably the odd bash with a hammer.
