Victory VS. BMW Police Bike Challenge + Video

A notice to any potential law breakers out there: Victory is getting in on the police bike business. Using stock Cross Country models modified with only lights and sirens, the Victorys may not be as ill-equipped for chases (at least slow speed, parking lot chases) as you might think. BMW Reports Q2 2012 Results

BMW reported a 8.9% decrease in motorcycle sales revenue over the second quarter of 2012 but still managed a 1.3% increase over the first half. According to German manufacturer’s second quarter report, the BMW and Husqvarna combined for 410 million euros (US$507.7 million) in revenue over the second quarter ended June 30, 2012, a decrease from the 450 million euros reported in the same period last year. Revenues for the first half totaled 858 million euros (US$1.06 billion), a 1.3% year-over-year increase from 847 million euros.

BMW S1000RR drag bike

Whilst stretched out bikes aren't that popular over here in the UK, you can certainly appreciate them a whole lot more more when you know they're going to be used at a drag strip. This video shows bike builder and ex-racer Roland Sands work his magic on a BMW S1000RR. Future plans are to increase the engine to 300bhp, and achieve speeds of 220mph.
