BMW Other description

2014 BMW G 650 GS Sert o, 2014 BMW G 650 GS Sert o
Power, robustness and agility combined with maximum control. This is what the G 650 GS Sert o stands for - a machine designed to master even the most adventurous forays into off-road terrain. Naturally its outstanding ride characteristics not only make it excel here but also in everyday riding on country roads or in city traffic.
No wonder - with these technical features: The engine generates 50 hp at 6500 rpm and a maximum torque of 44 lb/ft at 5000 rpm. Fuel consumption is sensationally low at 74 mpg at a constant 55 mph and thanks to its extremely low weight of 423 lbs with full tank the bike handles easily in every situation.
The G 650 GS Sert o is a thrilling bike to look at, too. The exclusive color design is classic in Aura white/Arroy blue while remaining modern at the same time. The luggage carrier is in black and the seat in black/grey.
Enduro fans will also enjoy the wide range of equipment. Thanks to standard ABS the braking performance of the G 650 GS Sert o reaches a new level on wet asphalt. Apart from riding safety, a high level of comfort is ensured by the optional heated grips and the power socket which ensures untroubled travel feeling on long distance rides. The equipment features are rounded off by the original BMW Motorrad alarm system.
All this makes the G 650 GS Sert o a versatile Enduro which calls out for adventure, like the exciting desert of Brazil after which it was named. Let yourself in for adventure!

Fri, 07 Jun 2013

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and the Highway Loss Data Institute have submitted a letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration petitioning in favor of making anti-lock brakes mandatory for all new on-highway motorcycles. The letter, addressed to David Strickland, NHTSA administrator, included a recent IIHS study on the effects of ABS on motorcycle fatal crash rates. The report found ABS technology reduces the rate of fatal crashes by 31%, while collision claim rates were 20% lower with ABS-equipped motorcycles.

EICMA 2008: First Impressions

Mon, 03 Nov 2008

I have had a little walk around checking out the preparations for the show. I haven’t seen anything that I haven’t already seen or heard about previously, but here’s a selection from three of the halls. Yamaha are the only manufacturer to use an industrial crane to place some of its bikes up on high rise stands.

New naked BMW spotted on track days

Sat, 03 Sep 2016

The future generation of the "1-liter" naked BMW S1000R was spotted during the development tests on the territory of the German racing "ring" Oschersleben. Apparently, the Bavarian streetfighter will receive a number of technical solutions that his older brother, the BMW S1000RR, was endowed with a couple of years ago. Just as the current generation of the SR was created on the base of the previous SR-era, the 2017 modification will actually become a stripped version of today's sportbike.
