2009 BMW S1000RR Entering Production

Wed, 04 Feb 2009

We’re finally able to share some pictures and info about the production version of BMW’s new literbike, the S1000RR. We now know that it has a claimed dry weight of 403 pounds, which should be competitive with its Japanese literbike rivals. Unfortunately, the photographs were captured from far away, preventing us from seeing many details apart from the new water-cooled Boxer engine from the new GS and what appears to be the adaptive headlight from the K1600GT and GTL. Thankfully, a new video has surfaced, providing an up-close look at the new R1200RT.

Naked BMW S1000RR Spied

Fri, 08 Jun 2012

[Ed.: The original spy photographs have been removed by request. Instead, here is a picture of the S1000RR without a fairing.] Spy photographers have captured photos of a new naked roadster believed to be based on the BMW S1000RR. Shot at a BMW test facility, the photos reveal a half-faired motorcycle with the S1000RR’s engine.
