2002 BMW R1150RT, The 2002 BMW R1150RT is aimed squarely at the long distance motorcyclist. BMWs reputation for reliability and comfort has long seduced the touring motorcyclist. The ergonomics of it allow you to spend longer on the road before your body demands a roadside stop. The upright riding position is good for the arms and the back, and the saddle adjusts through three heights, making it perfect for the long, or short, legged rider. Why cant other bikes do that? BMW Design Chief David Robb Steps Down; Edgar Heinrich Named Successor
Mon, 30 Jan 2012David Robb, the man responsible for BMW‘s split-face motorcycle design, has left the German manufacturer. A native of Boston, Mass., Robb joined BMW as its design chief in 1993, and over the ensuing 18 years expanded the company’s product line to include the top selling R1200GS, the six-cylinder K1600GT and GTL, and the S1000RR superbike (that’s him on the far right in the picture above). The 56-year-old’s latest design to enter production are the C600 Sport and C650GT maxi-scooters.

FIM Updates Superbike Racing Homologation Lists for 2013
Tue, 19 Feb 2013The International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) has released an updated list of motorcycles homologated for the 2013 Superbike, Supersport, and Superstock racing season. Notable additions include the new BMW S1000RR HP4, the MV Agusta F3 and the Superbike-spec Ducati 1199 Panigale R. To qualify a production-based racebike for FIM homologations, manufacturers have to meet certain production thresholds.
