BMW Other description

1974 Bmw R90S, A 1974 Smoke Silver R90S...Amazing to Behold! - This beautiful 1974 R90S is truly amazing to behold. When this motorcycle was introduced in 1974 it stood the motorcycle world on its collective ear. Imagine a factory built Cafe Racer with dual discs upfront and a high performance Boxer Motor. It came stock with Dellorto Carburetors to seal the deal in the high performance community. Appreciating the time, pride of ownership, effort and dollars to restore this motorcycle as it was when new in 74 makes it extra, extra special. We have original owners books, folding and extra keys. No detail was overlooked in the application of the correct Smoke Silver Paint and Pin Striping. The frame was powder coated in glossy black. The windshield is new and an authentic BMW. The engine was gone thru to make certain it needed nothing, the carburetors were rebuilt, as were the brakes, final drive and transmission. The goal from the outset was clear make this bike as near new as is possible and thats what we did. The list of of what has been accomplished is availabile for the buyers review but way too lengthy to publish here. The bike has polished aluminum wheels with stainless spokes and nipples. It has new Avon Tires and a new battery as well. Under the stock polished aluminum shock covers youll find a brand new set of Konis. We believe the mileage shown may be accurate at 11,719. Weve provided lots of photos but an in person visit is recommended to best appreciate this amazing work of art! This one is special...make that very, very special.

WSBK 2013: Portimao Race Report

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Marco Melandri and Eugene Laverty split a pair of victories at Portugal’s Portimao circuit while Sylvain Guintoli took advantage of some misfortune to his championship rivals to increase his lead in the 2013 World Superbike Championship standings. Guintoli has been leading or sharing the lead in the championship since winning the first race of Round 1 in Australia, but amazingly continues to lead despite having just that single victory after six rounds. The Aprilia rider has accomplished this through his consistency (Guintoli leads all racers with nine podium finishes in 12 races) and ability to finish each race (he’s the only rider in the top seven without a DNF).
