LT means Luxury Touring, it has 116HP and power is delivered smoothly across the acceleration arc. With a gentle twist of the wrist, the K1200LT jumps to 70 mph down the on ramp with no hesitation whatsoever. The 64 inches of wheelbase provides a smooth ride down the freeway over the 300-mile fuel range (BMW suggested) on the K1200LT's 6.4-gallon tank. Standard equipment includes the Full Integrated ABS braking system, heated hand grips, cruise control, electric reverse assist, and an on-board computer. It also comes with BMW's upgraded navigation system, CD player with a 6 Disc Changer, and auxiliary power plug. Hi-Def video of BMW S1000RR on the dyno

Mon, 15 Mar 2010

THERE'S SOMETHING rather cruel about ringing the nuts out of any bike on a dyno - a bit like poking a lion through the bars of a cage with a long stick... Anyway, not quite sure where I'm going with that one, so here's a rather lovely clip of BMW's much-lauded S1000RR getting a stationary pasting on a dyno. Not sure I'd be standing at the rear, mind you.

The Avon 3D Ultra range

Tue, 27 Mar 2012

As with many things, the world of motorbikes goes in phases. It be might be manufacturers dominating a certain segment of the market or even one country seemingly having a never ending supply of successful racers and the same goes for tyres. Back in the eighties and early nineties if you wanted racing success in the Supersport class Avon tyres would be your most likely weapon of choice.
