BMW K-Series description

Great motorcycle for travelling long distances in comfort.

All the comforts you would expect including electronic items such as cruise control, windshield adjustment, reverse, and center stand.

This bike had new clutch installed by dealer this spring. Also has new center stand motor. New tires, fork seals, brake pads and final drive flush last spring. Everything works, although I took off the antennae because I'd rather listen to ear buds or CD's. Stored inside.

Additional features include flip out pegs to stretch your legs, headlight protector, and rack that uses BMW fittings so you can ride with or without the trunk on back.  Small tank bag for storing phone cords, maps, etc.

Everything works. I was planning on riding again this season, but a knee issue (unrelated to motorcycles)is requiring I transition to a lighter bike.

Sold as is, no warranty.  Buyer responsible for pick up and/or shipping.

$500 deposit within 48 hours, balance due in 7 days.

30th Anniversary Edition BMW K1300S Announced for EICMA

Thu, 25 Oct 2012

BMW announced it will mark the 30th anniversary of its K series with a special edition K1300S. The 2013 BMW K1300S “30 Jahre K-Modelle” will be presented at the 2012 EICMA show in Milan, Italy in a couple of weeks’ time. Though perhaps not as popular as BMW‘s R series boxer models, the K series served as a platform for a number of technologies that were either new for BMW or new for the motorcycle industry.

More on 2012 BMW S1000RR Recall

Fri, 27 Apr 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced the recall for the 2012 BMW S1000RR, providing more information about the problem. According to documents released by NHTSA, the bolts on the connecting rods in the BMW S1000RR may come loose because of an anti-corrosive agent applied to the bolts. The anti-corrosive agent may effect the bolt torque, potentially leading them to come loose, particularly at high temperatures or rpms.

OEMs Plug into Electric Bikes

Sat, 01 Nov 2008

KTM introduced its prototype electric motorcycle earlier this week, and electric bike manufacturer Zero Motorcycles almost immediately responded by opening sales on its 2009 Zero X dirt bike (look for our review of the 2008 model next week!). But these two companies aren’t the only ones exploring the possibilities of electric-powered motorcycles. In September, Japan’s largest industrial information journal Nikkei Business Daily reported that both Honda and Yamaha have set target dates for launching their own electric-powered motorcycles.
