BMW K-Series description

A very nice and well cared for 1994 BMW K1100 LT. This motorcycle was repainted white from it's original red in it's 1st year at just over 8,000 miles. This was covered under warranty due to defects in the original paint. The owner chose to paint it in BMW Motor Sport colors. White with blue and grey pin stripping with BMW Motor Sport badges making it very unique and one of a kind. It was traded in in 2001 and purchased by the 2nd owner with about 38,000 miles on it. I have a record of all the servicing up until then. The splines were lubed at 26,317 miles.  If you know K bikes you know it is critical to lube the splines every 30,000 to 40, 000 miles. The 2nd owner sold it to me in 2008 with  a 59k miles in it. I have ridden the balance of the miles. The second owner did not have detailed records but he was meticulous in having changing fluids and filters changed and serviced as required. I have put a little over 8000 miles on the bike and have changed fluids at least every year. I had a major service and spline lube done last year at about 65,000 miles.

There are some minor scratches, cracks, worn spots and chips in the paint. Particularly on the mirrors from parking lot tip overs. The left mirror has the worst paint damage and some silicone was used to help hold it on. (see photos) Other than that the motorcycle is in very good condition. Included are the manuals and tools that came with the bike. It has a Koni rear shock that was installed by the second owner. All the gages, lights and ABS work as they should. The radio and cassette player work. Even the cigarette lighter and clock work. The front tire need to be replaced. The oil and filter have just been changed. I would not hesitate to ride this bike across the country today. This bike is 20 years old and used and sold as is so look at the photos and ask questions. The only reason I am selling this is I also have a 1997 K1100 LT which  with about the same number of miles. I hardly have time to ride one. It was a hard choice  deciding on which one to sell.

If someone elects the buy it know price I will include the matching panniers and top case.

Spy Video Provides Up-Close Look at 2014 BMW R1200RT/R1200GT

Wed, 17 Apr 2013

Last month, we published spy photos of what appeared to be some prototypes of the 2014 BMW R1200RT sport-tourer undergoing testing somewhere in southern France. Unfortunately, the photographs were captured from far away, preventing us from seeing many details apart from the new water-cooled Boxer engine from the new GS and what appears to be the adaptive headlight from the K1600GT and GTL. Thankfully, a new video has surfaced, providing an up-close look at the new R1200RT.

CFMoto 650TK Riders Set Record with 21,222-Mile Tour of China

Fri, 20 Dec 2013

A couple of adventurers have claimed a new world record for longest journey by motorcycle in a single country after completing a 21,222-mile trek around China. Buck Perley and Amy Mathieson completed their trek, traveling all 33 of China’s provinces in 147 days on a CF Moto 650TK sport-tourer. Guinness World Records still needs to ratify the couple’s journey, but if it stands, they will have surpassed the previous record of 18,041 miles set by Steven H. Siler earlier this year, after he completed his 26-day trip around the U.S.
