test Harley-Davidson Other description

Ultra rare and collectible 1971 Aermacchi Harley Davidson Baja MSR 100. This is the MSR Competition Model. The frame number indicates 1971 and they only made 904 Baja MSR 100's that year. The entire production run for this bike was 3834 units. It was rare to begin with and how many are left after 50+ years? The motor has a different number, but is the correct Baja MSR 100 Competition motor. See photos.

The bike starts on the first or second kick and sounds great. It runs and drives and goes thru the gears, but does not run as well as it could as the airbox cover is missing along with the correct filter so it is sucking too much air. I run it with filter media in the airbox if I start it. I'm sure it needs a carb service also. And fork seals, cable adjustments, kill switch fixed, and complete inspection. Has a crappy seat cover job. It is a running project.

See a youtube video of it running here:

It is missing the airbox cover and filter, one foot peg (I have the other), foot peg mounting bolt, kickstand, handlebar grips, and rear fender mounting bracket. Possibly more - see the photos. There are parts available on ebay for this bike and I've found a shop on the east coast that both services and sell parts for it. Also Facebook groups with people selling parts.

The bike has a ton going for it. The engine fins are straight and unbroken. The correct exhaust is there and not rusted out. Gas tank has a couple dings but fixable. It looks good. It turns heads and people ask "what the hell is that!?"

These bikes never had titles as they were strictly for off road use, so I do not have a title. I will provide a bill of sale.

The previous owner decided a custom rattle can paint job was in order, so you'll have to deal with that.

Restore this bike and have something really special or buy a few parts and do a little work and have a super fun and unique rider.

I've done my best to describe the bike accurately. Know that you're buying a 50+ year old restoration project. I'm sure you'll find something I missed that's wrong. It comes with the territory! The bike is sold absolutely as is and is not returnable.
