1989 Suzuki RM80 RM 80 SHOWROOM Collector NEW Cond. MINT All Original PERFECT

For sale is what has to be the nicest 1989 Suzuki RM80 Mini bike you are going to find. It is completely unrestored.

Background:

This thing was purchased by an oil company (motorcycle oil) and used for a catalog shoot. It then sat in their lobby for a few years, but was never prepped, used or started. By 1995 or so, it was put in storage and sat until about 2011.  One of the employees found it, bought it, and got it running (he basically just put gas in it and it started up). He taught his wife to ride it on the lawn, but she got scared of the thing and didnt like it, saying it was too much for her.

I found it and then bought it from him nearly two years ago.

Condition Notes:

The bike is just about near perfect, all original condition. It is really a mint condition motorcycle. Everything looks and feels brand new on it.

To find an old 80 like this that is this unspoiled is very rare, or more than likely impossible.  The frame has literally no wear marks on it. All plastic is original. All warning labels are still on bike.

About the only bad thing I can note is that the sticker on the gas tank (non radiator side) came off, and due to the gas fumes. They are not available from Suzuki anymore, but I had some replicas made up and will include those. Also, the right side (kick start) number plate decal was partly blown off by a powerwasher.  But any sign shop should be able to make that decal, as it is basically a straight bar in darker blue.

Aside from that, the bike is in VERY, VERY good condition. It has been ridden around, but not in the dirt and not in a way that damaged anything more than just some super light scuffs and small knicks in the plastic. Everything feels like brand new on this. The throttle is snappy, the clutch feels like butter. The footpegs and kick starter still snap. The clutch lever was slightly bent, and I replaced that with an OEM Suzuki lever. I still have the original bent one if you want it!

Please look closely at photos. Also check my other listing, as I am selling a 1991 RM250 that is in the same condition as this bike - basically brand new.

In case you are wondering anything about me as a seller, I have been on eBay since 1998 (thats 16 years) and have not one negative feedback. I am just a nut for older dirt bikes and ATV's from the 1980's. See my other listings for some more of my stuff, but I doubt I will get around to listing all of them.

If you live in Southern California I can transport this down to you for $125 gas fee. If you are an international buyer, please see below for more details, but I can work with you on getting the bike shipped.

The boring stuff (but please read):

Shipping:

I suggest you use Daily Direct for transport. Their phone number is 888-haulbikes, and they are professionals with a strong track record of moving expensive and nice motorcycles. I also have some other shipping options as well, and some that are much cheaper than you might think, so hit me up with any questions, but Daily Direct is very good, and offers door to door roll on and roll off service and they are insured.

I can and will ship international, but the buyer must coordinate this, as the process can be cumbersome. I will assist as best as possible and do have really good access to shippers to the UK, Europe  and Australia. I can also ship to the middle east as well.

Payment:

A $500 non refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of closing, or a friendly phone call or clear email on who you are and how you intend to close the deal. I am very easy to work with, but a little clear communication goes a long way with me. Paypal is fine for deposit, but the fee and commission they take is very high.  Cash is preferred, but we will take payment however is easiest for you for to send, as we understand that some buyers might be out of the country. Cash, wire transfer, bank check, Paypal, WU, Carrier Pidgin - whatever - but as long as it clears our bank and you are not playing the Nigerian lottery with me, I could care less how it comes.

If you are a serious buyer and have the money in hand, I am happy to talk to you on the phone about whatever questions or interest you have in the bikes.

But please, no time wasters or tire kickers.

The bike is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the listing at any time if a local buyer comes forward. And thanks for reading this far down.
