This beautiful and fast 1978 cb750F received a full re-build. The bike was torn down to the frame and rebuilt in what I would call a racer, rather than café racer. Unnecessary items were removed and the necessary items were improved. In addition, the bike received styling cues to make it look as good as it goes. The paint is House of Kolor Kandy Apple Red, and Hot Rod flat black applied to look nice yet have racer stripe style motif. The tank is freshly lined with Por-15 tank liner and ready for thousands of miles.

Note the custom yet lightweight headlight/tachometer holder. All switches except for the kill switch have been relocated just under the tank. The coy fish seat was hand tooled and dyed with the rising sun prominent on the back pad. This seat is a durable and head-turning homage to the origins of the bike, but most importantly feels good to sit on. The rear of the seat cowl has been modified and reinforced to improve fitment and strength compared to how it was delivered from the manufacturer; again a light weight alternative to the stock seat section.

The rear-sets were custom machined (one-off) for this bike. The gear selector and brake levers are lightened and modified Aprilia levers. The rear brake master is a Brembo unit with a modified reservoir.

The oil tank was designed with performance in mind. Race bikes don’t use tiny oil tanks, they use bigger oil tanks! This bike has very good cooling capacity with the larger oil tank and oil cooling system (with thermal valve to ensure proper heat up before oil flows through oil cooler). The inside of the oil tank was designed correctly, with a baffled ventilation system and raised intake tube to prevent possible debris intake.

All of this cooling was to support the heart of the bike; the motor. The motor has been completely rebuilt with new seals and bearings. The bottom end (the original F-model unit) utilizes the oversized bearing on the output shaft for increased durability. The crank was removed and checked for balance and bearings replaced. It was spot on! The rods were replaced with Super Rods (New bearings). This bottom end is strong! The cylinders are bored to 849cc with cycle-X 850 big bore kit. The earlier model head (No valve train issues!) is ported and the exhaust ports were polished to help with scavenging. Of course the valves utilize heavy duty springs and super lightweight valve spring retainers. Even the tappet adjusting nuts are made of lightweight titanium. …….and then to top it all off, the trick valve cover has been shaved and modified for cam tower supports. This was an old trick of the road racers back in the day to allow for cams with lots of lift and high RPMs. The cam is a webcam 63A and makes very good usable power for the street and really revs nicely at higher RPMs. The motor breathes through racing 29mm CR carbs with remote idle adjuster, and exhales through a Yoshimura replica racing exhaust. The motor performs excellently and makes great power. I have ridden many cb750s and this bike really scoots.

Oh, and the frame has been modified with a very cool and time-saving removable triangle underneath the tank. This allows you to do vital engine work WITHOUT removing the motor from the frame. The kit is very well made, professionally installed and designed to maintain frame tension just as well as the stock frame did. Remind me to tell you how to get it out for motor maintenance. It fits so tight it is like a puzzle.

Nothing was looked over when building this bike and everything was professionally assembled and tuned. The tires are fresh and the bike needs nothing. This bike is faster than it really should be.
