Harley-Davidson Extends UFC Sponsorship; UFC 164 Added to 110th Anniversary Celebrations

Wed, 20 Mar 2013

Harley-Davidson has renewed its sponsorship agreement with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The new agreement will see the mixed martial arts company hold its UFC 164 event Aug. 31 in Milwaukee’s Bradley Center during Harley-Davidson‘s 110th anniversary celebrations over the Labor Day weekend.

Terms of the new agreement were not released, though UFC President Dana White has said it is a long-term deal. The previous sponsorship agreement had a term of five years.

“The UFC is excited to team with Harley-Davidson again and play such a pivotal role in Harley’s 110th Anniversary celebration during UFC 164,” says White. “The UFC and its fighters are proud to be members of the Harley-Davidson family.”

Harley-Davidson also announced a new contest in conjunction with the UFC, giving away a custom Street Bob and a training session with UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez. To enter, visit http://harley-davidson.com/ufc/ and create a graphic celebrating Harley-Davidson’s 110th anniversary.

A panel of judges from an outside company will select 20 entries to advance to the semi-final round. A new panel of Harley-Davidson and UFC executives will then examine the semi-finalists and select one winning entry.

The winner will receive a three-night trip to Milwaukee, tickets to UFC 164, a meet-and-greet with UFC fighters, a one-hour training session with Velasquez, front-row seats to the official UFC 164 weigh-in, and a new 2013 Harley-Davidson Street Bob. The winning 110th anniversary design will also be painted on the octagon mat for UFC 164. The grand prize package is valued at $20,000.

“It’s been an amazing ride with the UFC,” says Dino Bernacchi, Harley-Davidson marketing communications director. “In this – Harley-Davidson’s 110th Anniversary year – we’re upping the ante and putting one lucky fan in the center of the action as only Harley and the UFC can.”

Submissions will be accepted until 11:59 pm Central Time on June 30.
