Find or Sell Motorcycles & Scooters in USA

Fun finds on ebay

Mon, 20 Oct 2008

This will be the first of what I’m hoping is many posts on fun and weird motorcycle-related finds on everybody’s favorite online retailer – ebay.

With Halloween just around the corner, we’ll look at the scarier side of motorcycles. First up is the very scary Dracucycle. According to the box, the Dracucycle not only does jumps, wheelies and stunts, but it also glows in the dark – SPOOKY! Come on, you knew Dracula had to be into bikes, but I always imagined him as a custom cruiser sort of guy, rather than a stunt rider. Can Dracula do a stoppie?

The seller says this item is from 1978 and he’s got a Buy It Now price of $178, which is scarier than the actual toy.

As terrifying as the Dracucyle might be, it’s got nothing on our next selection – two vintage motorcycle figurines.

Why is that scary? Because these two items are made of lead and the seller thinks they may have come from a Cracker Jack box from the 1930s or 1940s. Ahhh, the good old days when it was perfectly acceptable to put small, lead toys right in your food.

Honey, did you notice little Jimmy has glassy eyes and a nervous twitch?

Well, I’m sure it doesn’t have anything to do with that lead motorcycle he’s been chewing on.

Unfortunately for all you collectors out there, this auction is now closed.

Finally we have The Thing from the Fantastic Four on a motorcycle. What’s scary here is that The Thing chooses to ride his motorcycle without a shirt or a helmet. Sure he’s made of rock, but some leathers and a lid couldn’t hurt.

On a side note, my favorite thing about The Thing is that he has eyebrows made out of rock! Can he tweeze those? Also, what kind of suspension would The Thing have to add to his bike? He must weigh 1,500 pounds…there’s no way a stock setup works for this guy.
