14-Meter Bike Breaks World Record

Mon, 20 Oct 2008

The Beatles, Big Ben and The BBC – the UK has given the world so much over the years. Unbeknownst to many of their population, Britain has now made another contribution to the world – a 14 meter long motorcycle. Colin Furze, the builder, had to ride it 100 meters in order to qualify for the record, which he accomplished handedly. It appears as though he cut a scooter in half and added an old TV antenna tower in the middle in order to join the two halves. The previous record was held by a bike that was 9.6 meters, so Furze definitely beat that.

Furze currently holds another record – for the world’s largest bonfire. Not sure how the two relate, but anything that involves a lot of fire is always an attention grabber. From what I gather, attention is what Colin is looking for.

Check out the video, he even drove it with no hands for a few seconds – showoff!
