Yamaha YZF-R description

2009 Yamaha Yzf-R1 , Up for sale is my 2009 R1. Bike has 2200 miles and the following mods: Graves header back stainless/carbon exhaust (no cats), Kevlar color matched windscreen, carbon sliders, carbon rear tire hugger, carbon heel guards, integrated taillighs/turn signals, solo seat cover, various other carbon pieces. Bike is super clean and due to an idiot driver who rear ended me at 300 miles on the odo, it has a salvage title. The only damage caused was a torn rear tire and broken bolt boss on the seat sub frame. I talked the adjuster into salvaging it pretty easily because he knew the speeds these bikes are capable of and he didn't want hid name on anything involved with repairing it. I did a string test for alignment (simply tried and true method) between front and rear and everything was 100% within factory specs. I've had the bike to 175mph (in Mexico of course) since then and absolutely positively as stable and wobble free as it was from the factory. The only part I had to replace due to the accident was the rear tire. Only one other panel was scratched and the bike didn't even go on its side (honestly)!! I truly mean minimal wreck here guys. Please ask questions. $7,500.00 3173621970

For 2023, Yamaha has gone crazy with the tech on the new Tracer 9 GT+. For 2023, Yamaha has gone crazy with the new Tracer 9 GT+ and thrown every bit of technology it could think of at the bike. Now sitting atop Yamaha’s sport-touring mountain as the flagship for the brand – taking the place of the dearly departed FJR1300, which has been out of production for a few years – the Tracer 9 GT+, with its multitude of electronic rider aids, will help make the sport-touring experience as stress-free as possible.

Filling a void with an RD350LC

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

Last winter I managed to fill a void in my life when I stumbled on a very reasonably priced Yamaha RD350LC.  It was a tad scruffy, had the wrong exhausts but most importantly it was blue and white with all numbers matching.  I had the usual euphoria when the deal was done but I underestimated how much pleasure this particular purchase would continue to deliver another eight months down the line. The difference with this old bike is, instead of just taking it for the occasional ride I was talked into doing a full nut and bolt restoration.  Having never taking a bike apart completely before, initially it was quite daunting but I soon found the RD is easy to work on so it turned into a truly satisfying experience.  I’ve had some help from LC enthusiasts with the rebuild, however, the stripping, sourcing and organising was a total labour of love.  And call me sad but it has made me bond with this bike like no other which only adds to the feel good factor.  The bike cost £1800 and I’ve spent around £1000 but I reckon my mint Elsie is now worth a fair bit more.   I fancy rejuvenating a Fizzy  next time but there’s lots of other cheap 70’s and 80’s winter projects  out there so why not have a go yourself?
