Yamaha Virago description

1985 Yamaha Virgo XV700N  16,800K miles. 700 ci. V-Twin.
I am the original owner, I purchased the Virago brand new in 1987 as a crate bike from a local Yamaha Dealer that went out of business in 1987
Garaged all of its life, this bike has Jardine Exhaust pipes, Yamaha chrome engine guards and the backrest installed as the only options, otherwise all stock.
2 Recent new Metzler performance tires, recent battery.  Mechanically in great shape, normal wear and tear, chrome and engine in good shape.
Imported Headlamp Hella 55/100w high beam really lights up the night. All lights, switches, horn etc work fine.  I have 2 or 3 keys with the bike also.
Bike also has a brand new starter solenoid installed and the starter was upgraded to the new style.
Oil and filter just changed during this posting in July with Kendall Racing 20w-50 oil.
Bike runs great, has never been taken apart, all original condition, I always run 93 octane fuel since day one.
I have the original pipes that have been kept in storage since I changed them in 1987.
Owners manual, tool pack, receipts and brochures included, also a service manual.
Believe it or not the original Yuasa battery lasted me 20 years before I had to change it.

I prefer local pickup, I can help crate the bike if necessary, additional fees to crate and ship apply !

Recreate Rossi’s Corkscrew Pass on Stoner at Laguna Seca with Paper

Fri, 27 Dec 2013

Valentino Rossi‘s career is full of many incredible moments but few are as indelible as the move he made to pass Casey Stoner on the 23rd lap of the 2008 U.S. Grand Prix at Laguna Seca. The controversial cut through the famous Corkscrew was arguably the most dramatic moment of the 2008 MotoGP season (and ironically, recreated this year, with Marc Marquez turning the tables on Rossi).

New: Venhill 888 fast-action twistgrips

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

CONTROL specialist Venhill has launched its new 888 range of bike-specific fast action twistgrips.  Supplied complete with the company's top of the range Featherlight cables, the kits are designed for a straightforward replacement of the factory-fitted equipment.  Bike-specific kits are now available for the Honda CBR600F, Kawasaki ZX-6R/ZX-10R, Suzuki GSX-R600/750, Triumph 675 Daytona and Yamaha R1/R6, among others, with prices from £105. Here's Venhill's description of the new product: "Manufactured with a robust CNC machined alloy body, the 888 fast action twistgrip provides a choice of two settings and is supplied with two rotors so that riders can select the throttle action that best suits the riding conditions.  Settings can be changed swiftly by undoing the two set screws securing the throttle body and changing the rotor. On the fastest setting there is 80° of rotation, (taking up 36mm of the cable), which is typically 45% faster than 'standard' throttles.
