1971 sr 500 thumper parts or project bike, I bought this 4 or 5 years ago at mid ohio for a project, never touched it. CLEAN TITLE in my name, it has the wrong forks and wheels on it just to roll it, I have two sets of sr forks, two sets of sr wheels, nice gauges, good gas tank and rear seat panel, still turns over. wiring looks all there, stock exhaust plus another down pipe and megaphone style muffler, lots of small parts I have around here to. also have a spare engine for an extra 300.00 available to the buyer. ask questions if you need to know more. mat meet in Indiana, ask for details. Mark your calendars for February 5 and 6, 2013, as those are the dates when Bonhams — one of the world’s largest auctioneers of fine arts and antiques — will put for sale two motorcycle collections which include some incredibly rare and historic machines. The Grand Palais in Paris, France will play host to the auction, which includes the entire Garelli Grand Prix collection as its headliner. Founded in 1919, many famous Italian racers got their starts on Garelli motorcycles.

Round One of the GEICO Superbike Shootout kicks off with the Yamaha SoCal Nationals this weekend at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. The event is the first of a three-race series that will crown overall champions in two individual race classes: Pro Superbike and Dynojet Pro Sportbike. The Superbike Shootout is a three-race series meant to fill the long void in the AMA Pro Roadracing schedule between round one at Daytona and the second round at Road America.

The decision, while unfortunate, isn’t hard to understand, as racing at the highest levels isn’t cheap, and a factory involvement means added pressure to succeed, which ultimately means spending more money to do so. Through it all, however, Yamaha has remained involved with the sport, fielding factory teams and sponsoring various riding schools and even racetracks.
