Yamaha Other description

Selling my 2 stroke Yamaha Cafe Racer. RD400 (1976) Frame and R5 motor (very similar to rd350).17,600km. The engine was rebuilt 2 years and bored for oversized(64.75) pistons that I ordered from HVCycle. I also installed CDI ignition kit that came from HVCycle.net, I paid for it close to 800 CAN, it replaces all of the original electrical components and provides very stable ignition with high energy spark, better starting and fuel burning, increases engine performance, solid light output (150W) enabling Halogen lighting, no problem with points anymore and it runs without the battery. All of the lines and cables were replaced. I installed MotoCarrera rear sets, and DG Expansion Chambers, aftermarket cold air intake (Pod Filters), clip-ons instead of handlebars and also brand new tires. It has front and back disk brakes. I just don’t have the time anymore to ride it, and am going to move away soon, so thats why I am selling it. Runs great.
Motorcycle is located 15 minutes away from Yorkton,Saskatchewan.

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

Yamaha announced plans to release the production versions of its PES1 and PED1 concept models within two years as part of the company’s plans to enter the electric motorcycle segment. The PES1 and PED1 (which stands for “Passion, Electric, Street” and “Passion, Electric, Dirt”) concepts were first revealed at last November’s Tokyo Motor Show. In the company’s newly-published annual report, Yamaha confirmed plans to produce the two models, saying: “In sports motorcycles, we are working to create new value with EV sports motorcycles, which we aim to launch in two years, with the development of the small, on-road sports PES1, as well as the PED1, which are being developed to expand the scope of electric vehicles to the off-road world.

After finishing in fifth place with Chris McGahan in the SES TT Zero in 2013, Italian based Team Vercarmoto, who made their debut in the event in 2012, has announced that American Mark Miller will ride for them in the 2014 race. American Miller is seen as a specialist in the category and boasts a respectable track record in the Isle of Man TT Zero class with the runner up position in 2011 and 3rd place in 2012 to go with his 2010 race victory. The American is also one of only three riders to break the prestigious 100mph mark around the iconic 37.73 mile TT Mountain Course on an electric bike, a feat he achieved in the 2012 race.

Yamaha U.S. Increasing Club Level Road Racing Contingency

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

The state of road racing in America is hurting, there’s no doubt about that. But at least Yamaha is stepping up to the plate and increasing its contingency program for club level road racers 50% over last year. According to Yamaha, the program is designed to encompass a broad spectrum of road racing series across the U.S., from numerous club-level and regional sprint series events to the AMA Pro Road Racing series, including the addition of the ASRA Team Challenge Endurance Series.
