2008 Yamaha Roadstar 1700cc, only 849 mis. Charcoal with silver ghost flames. I purchased this bike off the showroom floor in 2010. It was brand new at the time and has always been garaged and covered when not in use. No scratches and has never been dropped. I had the dealer add aftermarket HardKrome black Big Straight pipes ($650), air charger ($200), sissy bar, chrome rear floorboards, and detachable saddle bags. Pipes have a solid strong sound. Mon, 30 Sep 2013The 2013 AMA Pro Superbike has just wrapped up its season this past weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, with Josh Hayes dominating the race and his teammate, Josh Herrin, finishing second to clinch his first AMA Superbike championship. Not long after the checkered flag waved did Yamaha announce some big changes for the upcoming 2014 season. First and foremost, Herrin will be departing for Moto2 next year, fulfilling his desire to compete on the world stage.
One man who didn't want to be watching the Sachsenring MotoGP
Mon, 15 Jul 2013Jorge Lorenzo posted this picture on his Twitter feed on Sunday. Yamaha's No.1 rider had to watch Sunday's MotoGP from his apartment. Despite Crutchlow reckoning Sunday's race result would have been the same even with Pedrosa and Lorenzo on the grid, I reckon Lorenzo would have had something to say about that.
Yamaha Focusing on Developing Model Platforms
Mon, 22 Sep 2014Following the success of its MT platform, Yamaha says it will continue to develop new models based on shared platforms, allowing for a choice of multiple models while reducing overall costs. Speaking in a presentation on the company’s business operation, Yamaha Motor President Hiroyuki Yanagi reiterated the strategy of developing multiple models sharing the same engine and frame. Honda has followed a similar strategy with its NC models, seeing the platform evolve to include the CTX700 and NM4.
