Yamaha PW50 And TTR Line Back For 2015

Even more news from Yamaha: Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. has announced the launch of the complete 2015 TT-R line and the iconic PW50 for 2015. The PW50 has long been the motorcycle to introduce kids to the joys of off-road riding, and is often the launching platform for a lifetime of two wheel fun.

In addition to introducing a new two-stroke model, Yamaha has updated its flagship 4T enduro, the WR450F. The motorcycle used the YZ450F motocross engine layout with the cylinder turned back and the intake and exhaust turned 180 degrees. The engine is housed in a new aluminum frame based on the aforementioned YZ450F.

Yamaha to Cut Motorcycle Production in 2009

With mounting inventories coupled with a drop in demand, Yamaha will be cutting its motorcycle production in Japan by 24 percent this year or to about 260,000 total units; one newspaper reported this would be a 40-year low for the manufacture. Yamaha plans to cut production for motorcycles and other products by 30 percent in the Americas, 20 percent in Europe but will maintain production levels in Asia where demand has not dropped off. The company is forecasting its group sales to fall 22 percent with an operating loss of about $300 million.
