2000 Yamaha r1. CHROME EVERYTHING, 100 dollar bills in stacks and rolls on the tank. Benjamin Franklin mean muggin on the windscreen. Money emblems in the gas cap. Oversized cam, headers into a voodoo pipe its loud but sounds amazing. Stretched 10 ins. Brand new Michelin tires just bought this season. Fresh oil change I only use amsoil. Racing plugs and wires. Jetted carbs. Bike has 21k on the build. I have the helmet to match the wind screenalso. I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Marco Melandri captured his third win of the season, the Ducati 1199 Panigale scored its first podium while Sylvain Guintoli regained the championship lead despite dislocating his collarbone days before the race. But the big news at Moscow Raceway of course was the tragic death of Andrea Antonelli in the World Supersport race. The opening-lap crash in severely wet conditions naturally led to the cancellation of the rest of the events as the World Superbike community mourns the loss of the 25-year-old Antonelli.

DAINESE JERICO-R Being stuck up a mountain with your bike buried to the pegs in snow is not the best place to be a week before Christmas, especially when its 1200kms from home. Only owning perforated summer gloves is also far from ideal. This is the situation I found myself in and seeing as everything in Italy costs a million Euros, I wasn’t prepared to spend a fortune on a set of discontinued Oxford heated grips from the local motocross shop.  A very pretty girl called Fanny at Chitrrai Yamaha, near Perugia, showed me the winter glove options.
