Yamaha Other tech info
Yamaha Other description
Nice XZ 550 Vision with the fairing. This is a good find for someone who has been looking.
When I got it a few years ago, I changed the oil, replaced the spark plugs, put new tires on it, and had the carburetor rebuilt. I also had the recommended fix done to the starter clutch (to keep it from rattling). Everything works. The seat is in nice condition. Soft and no splits. Paint looks nice for the most part. It has some blemishes mostly from being shuffled around for decades. It's never been dropped. Has never leaked a drop of anything. Due to medical reasons, I can no longer ride it. It's been sitting a couple years and the battery is dead. Assume you'll need to buy one and put fresh fuel in. Also that you'll have to arrange to come and get it. I rode it the day I parked it, so shouldn't take more than an hour or two to get it ready again. I have the repair manual. This thing looks like what a two wheeled '82 Trans Am would look like. Great opportunity. These don't come up for sale often and have a cult following. They look beefier than what a 550 usually does, like to be wound up (red line is like 10,000 RPM!), and look killer with or without the fairing. Happy to answer questions and help when picking it up. |
