Yamaha Other description

'78 Yamaha XS Eleven, 1st year E model. 24,269 original miles, "Macho" Maroon. Has owners manual, Yamaha factory service manual, and Clymer service manual, original tool kit. Original seat and Yamaha optional touring seat are both in terrific condition, no rips or tears. Brake calipers have been rebuilt, new brake pads, Russell steel braided brake lines, SuperTrapp 4-into-1 exhaust, new battery kept on a Battery Tender, 2 new tires not mounted yet but wrapped in plastic to help preserve them, new fork seals, original and aftermarket Progressive shocks. Drive shaft repacked with molybdenum grease. Fuel petcocks rebuilt, new spark plugs and wires. Runs but carbs need work, 1 or more are leaking. Have never checked valve clearance yet. A year ago the bike took a tumble off of my lift and the part of the frame where the right rear turn signal mounts is bent, as is the rear fender, and the plastic cowl behind the seat is broken. Fuel tank has some chips and scratches but no dents and inside of tank is clean. Side covers in terrific shape. Also have Samsonite style hard side bags and top case but no mounting hardware for them. Would make a good parts bike or if you have capability to straighten the bent part of the frame a good bike to finish up for riding. I bought it in 2006 from a former AMA staffer who had it stored for 18yrs. I started work on it a couple of years ago but lost interest after the tumble. Have other bikes I spend time on. Can call me at or reply to attached e-mail address.
