2014 Superbike Shootout Air Dates Announced

Fans of professional motorcycle road racing who don’t want to wait until the next AMA round at Road America can now rejoice in watching the GEICO Superbike Shootout presented by Yamaha. One-hour TV shows from each round will air on MAVTV twice a day on six consecutive Thursdays at consistent times, as follows: Round One, RaceFuelZ Pro Superbike from Yamaha SoCal Nationals at Fontana June 5, 10:00 a.m. Pacific/1:00 p.m.

In a year that saw Yamaha riders James Stewart, Valentino Rossi, and Ben Spies capture the perfect “trifecta” of World Championships, perhaps one of the most memorable moments for race fans around the world, was “King” Kenny Roberts’ return ride at the infamous Indy Mile in late August. As a year end surprise, Yamaha is pleased to offer race fans around the world a video of this monumental occasion. Stoner to Miss Brno for Surgery – Title Defence Likely Over

Casey Stoner has withdrawn from the Brno, Czech Republic MotoGP round to undergo surgery on his injured ankle. Trailing Yamaha‘s Jorge Lorenzo by 39 points and Honda teammate Dani Pedrosa by 21 points with seven rounds to go, Stoner’s hopes of repeating as MotoGP champion before retiring at the end of the season are all but dashed. The Repsol Honda rider injured his ankle in a high side crash in last weekend’s Indianapolis Grand Prix.
