Yamaha Other description

Offering this full custom built rd350 out of our private collection. This bike started as A 1975 rd 350. Early on after buying it I decided that a full restoration would not bring the value to make it worthwhile. This project took me about a year to build. Anyway here's what was done.

The bike was totally stripped. Frame painted. My best estimate is that the bike lost about 80 to 90 pounds of gross weight. The motor was bored and fitted for .080 over pistons and rings (about 400cc now) all boring and fitting was done by an expert machine shop. It was fitted for these jim lomas expansion chambers made in England, check out the welding on these pipes, the quality is outstanding but at 1250.00 A set it should be. The engine was also fitted with the MZ full electronic ignition made in Germany at a parts cost of 600.00. The final tuning was done by underground motorsports, he is a real professional at tuning these bikes with 35 years under his belt. The oil pump and tank were stripped to lighten the bike, Two cold rolled steel braces support the seat and seat cowl underneath, the front brace is welded to the frame. The tank has a quick release set up with A single bracket in front and a heavy rubber strap and hook in the back, so that the tank can be removed quickly if needed but is secure when in place runs on 25 to 1 mix. The bulky handlebar and run kill switches were deleted and instead I integrated an all in one switch for a 1977 kawasaki kh400. I have a set off bar end mirrors I will include in this sale. 5000 invested in this bike, but has a very reasonable reserve.

The bike features a battery eliminator designed to work with the electronic ignition and the bike never needs a battery. It has an acewell digital speedo and tach a really trick item to have on this full custom bike, The front tire was bumped up to a 3.50 and the back tire was bumped up to a 5.10 Here is a short video of the bike running.  https://youtu.be/9jL54u3-hUA

The foot pegs and foot controls are from fast from the past at a cost of 500.00. There are many other custom parts on the bike, to many to list. The bike is currently street legal. Check out the custom machined fork brace. This bike is raw and really screams, all the hard work has been done. I think this bike could smoke some triples in the quarter mile. Everything works, blinkers, lights, electrics.I built it to be a great track day bike, bike night conversation piece or a little bar hopper with an attitude. To put it simple LIGHT, FAST, LOUD.

What could it use if anything ? it could use some better springs in the forks and some nice rear shocks. The transmission is totally solid, however the shifting is a little tight with the fast from the past controls, some adjustment of the shift linkage might be needed.

If you have low or no feedback please contact me prior to bidding. I have shipped all over the world and storage of the bike for up to 90 days is no problem while you make the proper arrangements. A deposit of 300.00 is required upon purchase Full payment by pay pal is o.k. but I need  3 percent to cover the sale fee's. I have also used clear exchange if you are familiar with it. A certified check or money order is also o.k. however no matter how you decide to pay your item cannot be released until all funds have cleared.Full Payment due within 7 days of purchase.

I really enjoyed building this bike but it's time to move it on to someone who can appreciate it. Bike is light, fast and one of a kind, it recently took first place in it's class at a local bike show and the crowd there loved it along with the serious bark it has when running.

Yamaha Confirms Leaning Multi-Wheeler for 2014 – Will the Tesseract Concept Finally Become Reality?

Wed, 03 Jul 2013

Yamaha confirmed it plans to introduce a new Leaning Multi-Wheeler (LMW) vehicle for 2014. An accompanying image of a test unit in camouflage reveals two closely-aligned front wheels beneath a broad fairing. The new model will be a three-wheeler similar to Piaggio‘s MP3 scooter instead of the four wheels like the Tesseract concept (pictured further below) first introduced at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show.

Small-Displacement Class Considered for 2015 AMA Pro Racing Season

Wed, 04 Dec 2013

More and more manufacturers are entering the small-displacement sportbike market and AMA Pro Racing has taken notice, opening the possibility of adding a new racing class representing the growing segment. With plans to consolidate the Daytona Sportbike and Supersport classes and the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series signed through 2015, a spot will open up on race weekends for another racing class to support the premier Superbike Championship. The logical choice is to introduce a new small-displacement class.
