Suzuki INDY description

SELLING MY 1972 SUSUKI GT550 INDY TWO STROKE TRIPLE. I HAVE HAD THIS BIKE FOR YEARS. AND IT HAS A PLACE IN MY HEART.  ELCTRIC STARTER WORKS GREAT. ADDED ELETRONIC IGNITION. NEW TIRES, SHORI BATTERY,PINGEL PETCOCK ALL TURN SIGNALS,STARTER,HORN,HEADLIGHT AND TAILGHT. WORK AS THEY SHOULD .I HAD NOT RIDDEN IN A WHILE AND FIRED IT UP TODAY FOR THE PICTURES.STARTED RIGHT UP AND WAS HARD TO STOP RIDDING IT AROUND. I DID NOTICE THAT DASH LIGHTS CURRENTLY NOT WORKING.THE CHROME SHOWS IT AGE, HAS SOME LIGHT PITTING BUT SHOWS WELL. THE MAIN ISSUE IS THE GAS TANK PAINT IS CRACKING AND BUBBLING.   PLEASE SEE PICTURES, I WILL INCLUDE ANOTHER CLEAN GAS TANK WITH THE BIKE, AS THE ONE ON IT IS SOLID AND CAN BE REPAINTED BUT HAS ALOT OF BONDO.BIKE HAS A NEW SEAT, ALL ORIGINAL PIPES AND BAFFLES, THIS IS THE FIRST YEAR FOR THE GT550 INDY AND ONLY THE FIRST FEW GOT THE DUAL DRUM FRONT BRAKES.THE FRONT RIGHT BRKE HAS A SMALL PIECE CHIPPED OFF WHERE THE CABLE RESTS, BUT IS FIXABLE AND STILL WORKS FINE. RIMS WERE NEW WITH STAINLESS SPOKES, BUT HAS SOME RUST ON THE SPOKES THAT CAN BE CLEANED RIGHT OFF. I HAVE MANY BIKES AND WITH THE TANK NEEDING REPAINTED I JUST HAVE NOT BEEN RIDDING AND DO NOT WANT TO SEE IT FALL IN DISREPAIR. I DECIDE TO FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO SHOW IT THE LOVE IT DESERVES. WHICH WAS REAL HARD AFTER HEARING ONE OF THE BEST SOUNDING TWO STROKE EXHAUST OUT THERE. THE STYLE OF THIS BIKE WAS SUSUKI'S FIRST SUPERBIKE BUILT TO TAKE ON HONDA DOMINATING CB750.  A $500 DEPOSIT TO PAYPAL REQUIED TO END AUCTION.  PLEASE SEE MY OTHER VINTAGE BIKES LISTED AS WELL. THANKS. IF YOU NEED CALL ME AT 561 577-6331 FOR DETAILS

Piaggio, Suzuki Hit with Fines by CARB

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

The California Air Resources Board has agreed to settlements with Suzuki and Piaggio for selling motorcycles that the companies did not disclose could be modified to exceed the state’s strict emission standards. Suzuki was hit with the larger of the two penalties, agreeing to a fine of $3,020,000, though the amount could be reduced by $1,812,000 if Suzuki follows certain provisions. The penalty is in addition to the previous fine of $885,000 levied by the Environmental Protection Agency for selling 25,396 LT-R450 ATVs and 62 RMX450Z dirtbikes with a racing map programmed into their ECUs that was not certified or tested. This racing map is not initially accessible to customers, unless they buy aftermarket devices to unlock the higher-performance engine mapping.
