Suzuki GSX-R description

Everyone,

For sale is a K6 1000 complete chassis (NO ENGINE) with some spare parts. The setup is as follows:

  • Internally lowered (1 inch) and re-valved fork (stiff). No strap required.
  • 8 inch stretched and modified factory swing arm with McIntosh chain guard. The arm bracing was modified to clear the factory voltage regulator when the bike launches, and a set of pegs were mounted to avoid the noodle leg syndrome.
  • Race tech valved rear shock (drag race valving) with a schrader valve to set the gas pressure.
  • Currently the oil cooler is mounted in the rear of the chassis and the body has a belly pan attached with 1/4 turn fasteners (the front of the body is sealed under the radiator).
  • EK DR-Z 530 chain.
  • Michelin pilot 120/50 series low profile front tire.
  • 190 shenko U soft rear.
  • -4 AN nitrous fuel pump feed line welded into the fuel tank.
  • EBC HH brake pads front and rear.
  • Front and rear braided steel brake hoses.
  • Foot pegs and rear sets (with shift lever) powder coated gloss black.
  • Factory frame slider kit (visible in the photos).
  • GPR adjustable steering stabilizer.
  • Vortex 3 up rear sprocket.
  • Belly pan (see the photos) with oil pan mounts.  Possible to remove fairings with pan intact for quick service at the track.

That's all the good.

Now for the bad -

  • I dropped the bike when it had less than 1000 miles and had to replace the left front fairing (lower).
  • The clutch lever knob is scraped, along with the front upper fairing, and the left side of the fuel tank.
  • The Sidi sticker covers the damage to the tank.
  • The left side lower fairing and shift lever were replaced. No insurance companies were involved.
  • The left upper fairing is missing the grommet and stock bolt.
  • The front fender has a bike lock crack on the right side.  Thank you bike week.
  • The factory mirrors and turn signals; they're in fantastic shape except that I clipped the leads years ago when I pulled them off because I didn't want to pull the whole front fairing.  Luckily, the plugs are still on the main harness, but I'm not going to say I have the terminals for the mirrors.
  • I sold the stock ram air tubes a few years ago.

Spare parts -

  • The chassis comes with everything mentioned above plus a spare ECU from a K5. Two wiring harnesses - one is a complete stock harness, the other was the original that came with the bike and suffered its racing phase.
  • I also have the stock brackets, lines, and hardware to attach a stock oil cooler to a stock motor/radiator combination (no radiator, sold with the motor).
  • Smoke double bubble windscreen (brand new/never installed).
  • Wiring, schematics, and terminals to assemble a superbike style harness.  The ECU is currently mounted in the left front fairing.
  • Stainless hard lines to connect the oil cooler to the engine (adapters sold with motor).
  • Not shown, but I have the black undertail/battery tray, and the red undertail fairing
  • The original airbox.  Modified with a removable bottom under the air cleaner; used to access foggers when the bike had nitrous for jet changes.
  • Modified factory header.
  • Extra set of stock cams.
  • Extra clutch basket.
  • OE airbox sensor package.

The fine print - Please message me about this bike for information.  I'll drop it off to the winning bidder if you're within 150 miles of my location.  Otherwise, please plan on having it picked up by motor carrier, or pick it up.  This bike was incredibly fast when it was running, and just needs an owner with the time to get it going again.  PLEASE communicate with me!!  Don't bid unless you're serious about purchasing the bike!!

Please read and understand the description.  This is the complete motorcycle without the engine or radiator!  Also, please know that I won't accept trades for this.  Please bid only if you're going to purchase!!

2014 WSBK – Phillip Island Results

Sun, 23 Feb 2014

When he signed with the team, Eugene Laverty said he would give all he possibly could to bring Suzuki back to the top of the podium once again. Well, it sure didn’t take the Northern Irishman long to accomplish that goal, winning the very first race of the 2014 season at Australia’s Phillip Island course. The win was Laverty’s third in a row, including the final two races of the 2013 season when he raced for Aprilia.

The World Endurance Championship Starts This Weekend

Wed, 23 Apr 2014

Endurance racing is perhaps the ultimate test of both man and machine. In the past, teams would pace themselves in order to rest both elements enough to make a final push at the end. These days, however, motorcycles are more reliable than ever, and riders train like triathletes.
