My uncle bought this bike brand new from the california norton dealer in 1974 it has always been garaged and maintained, he had over 40 motorcycles and is in failing health due to age, he asked me to sell a few bikes for him, i dont know everything about this bike but if you have a question i can find out, other than that this bike usually starts on 1 kick and is in awesome condition, the front brake doesnt work and it probly should have a carb rebuild as its been sitting most its life, but it runs great and is surprisingly fast. Norton Commando 1975 Electric Start MK3 850cc (1975)
Very nice low mileage original Norton Commando E start. This bike I believe is a 1 owner and has 12,000 original miles. Original bike owned for most of it's life by a family friend. This bike is original to the Midwest. Still has original Union key. Clear title in my name can be shipped worldwide without issue. The Good: - 4 brush starter spins like a top - Yusa Gel Battery (1 year old) - Good Front tire & brand new rear Dunlop k81s (See photos) - Updated cosmetics: Professional Black paint, lined tank & pin stripes as original by Cliff Anderson - 1n the 90's at 9500 miles the motor was freshened up by Steve Hamel and Head redone by Dick's porting (They typically split up engine rebuilds that way). The owner was paranoid about 75's having a soft cam, and that was replaced, pistons, ring, valve job all done. Norton Signs Cameron Donald to Race Isle of Man TT
Thu, 20 Mar 2014Norton Motorcycles has signed two-time TT winner Cameron Donald to a three-year contract to race in the Isle of Man TT. Donald will ride the Norton SG3 sportbike in the Dainese Superbike and PokerStars Senior TT classes, starting both races seeded 19th. That matches the number of the late Steve Hislop, the last Norton rider to win on the Isle of Man with a victory in the 1992 Senior TT race.

During his visit Prince William enjoyed a display of off-road riding – one of nine opportunities for visitors to ride at Motorcycle Live, eight of which are inside the halls of the NEC. He also met Dean Linehan, exhibitions director of MCI Exhibitions, the company that organizes the annual motorcycle exhibition.

The auction price more than doubled the top selling estimate and set a new world record for a Manx sold at auction. Eighty percent of the 436 lots offered sold at the auction totaling $2,168,314 Hot on its heels came the technological marvel from an earlier era that produced the sale’s best result when the 250cc Moto Morini Grand Prix racer from the 1960s fetched $145,081. The Molnar Norton Manx, prepared and entered by Fred Walmsley for the late World Champion Barry Sheene, sold for $89,490.
