Kawasaki Celebrates 40th Anniversary of KX – Video

Kawasaki is marking the 40th anniversary of its KX dirt bike lineup with a special web page and a new documentary (look for Part 1 below). The KX legacy began in 1974 with the KX250 which was based on the works machine ridden by AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer Jimmy Weinert in 1973. The KX Dirt Domination page highlights the successes of the KX line over the last 40 years, including its astounding run in AMA Supercross and Motocross over the last decade.

The quotation marks are not accidental - the old ZX-6R is hidden under another dress. However, there are still some innovations. Eugene Laverty and Marco Melandri split a pair of victories at Monza but the most biggest news from the World Superbike weekend was a strange series of appeals after Race Two that saw Tom Sykes finish third, relegated to fourth and then reinstated on the final step of the podium. The unusual mix-up occurred after Sykes, sitting in third place, ran off track and into the run off area on Turn 5 on his final lap. The Kawasaki rider returned to the track again in third place where he finished ahead of Aprilia‘s Sylvain Guintoli.
