Kawasaki Other description

2012 Kawasaki Versys (KLE650), got it with the gauges not working but was told there was approximately 15K miles on it. I am the second owner as far as I know.

Bike runs great, lots of torque. Tires are brand new Michelin Pilot 4s. All lights work, but there are no front turn signals, only the rear signals. Brake light, running light, hazard lights, high/low beam work. Brakes work well. Fronts were rebled.

As you'll see there has been some modification to the bike. Front end was swapped with a CBR929 front end, kept the stock calipers and wheel. The front wheel bearings are new. The steering stem/neck bearings are also new. The handlebars are new and were swapped due to the originals being bent, but the geometry is very close between the bars. The rear shock was lowered to match the front, to keep the trail/rake the same. There is an aftermarket aluminum coolant reservoir on the bike to fit the look. There is also an engine guard installed on the bike. There is a 7"? headlight from a cb750 mounted on the bike with a new bulb.

Everything else is stock. The fluid have been changed - oil, filter, coolant, front brake fluid.

There is a dent on the top/right side of the tank. Wouldn't take much to fix with light body filler. There is a tear on the left side of the seat. The bike comes as is and is rideable. However, based on where you live there may be different laws requiring mirrors and/or front turn signals. The bike needs a speedometer. The ignition also needed to be mounted. I will work on getting these things taken care of before sale if I can.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Nissin ABS Modulator Recall Explained in NHTSA Documents

Wed, 24 Jul 2013

Earlier this month, we published news about an issue with certain Nissin anti-lock brake system modulators that have been connected to recalls in Canada and Japan from Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki, with the possibility of it expanding to further models and manufacturers using the same component. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has now released documents from American Honda’s recall of ABS-equipped CTX700 and CTX700N that shed some more light into the issue. According to the documentation, a manufacturing error may have resulted in Nissin ABS modulators being contaminated with aluminum chips.
