Kawasaki Other description

I purchased this LTD in 2008 when I was starting to look at low mileage vintage motorcycles as a part of my new hobby.  It all started when I found and purchased the KZ650 I had in High School.  Around that time, I purchased 5 motorcycles, all low mileage, original vintage bikes.

I have ridden this bike less than 500 miles since I have purchased it.  As with most hobbies, my time was limited and I really didn't get to do much with this bike.  I did buy new side covers and mirrors as the originals had issues.

The tank is clean and is probably a 7.5-8 out of 10.  There are a few scratches ahead of the seat, and a small dent barely noticeable, but very good for a 33 year old original bike.  The seat is excellent, the exhaust is very good with some bluing and the start of corrosion at the headers, but the muffler section is very good.  I have not removed the exhaust to clean and polish them.  Factory exhaust is important for a vintage bike and these are very good.

I sent this to a local noted KZ mechanic and he put new Carb Boots, tuned the carbs and added a new battery.  The battery is brand new and I have it on a Battery Tender outside of the bike.

I am also providing 2 owners manuals, a Factory Service manual, a two page advertisement, and the original side covers and mirrors. It would be great for a collection or a daily rider as it is clean and runs well.

The only issue I am aware of is the Speedometer.  When I rode it last year, a gear noise began and the speedo was jumping.  I removed the cable and have not really ridden since, as at is not licensed.  I do start it and drive around the block occasionally to keep the fuel and lubricants fresh.

Nissin ABS Modulator Recall Affects Honda CTX700, Suzuki Hayabusa, Kawasaki Ninja 250R and Possibly More

Wed, 17 Jul 2013

Last week, we wrote about a recall in Canada for the ABS system on the 2014 Honda CTX700N and the CTX700T (known everywhere else as simply the CTX700), affecting 13 units north of the border. We can now confirm that the recall also affects U.S. models as well as models from other manufacturers using the same components from Nissin.

A Weighty Issue

Mon, 03 Nov 2008

For as long as I can remember, motorcycle manufacturers have been playing fast and loose with regard to what they claim for the weight of their bikes. The “dry weights” they foisted upon us had little basis in reality. The “dry” part of that claim meant that listed weights on a spec chart were the result of all fluids being MIA from the bike, including necessities like engine oil, coolant and fork fluid (not to mention fuel), but even that didn’t fully explain the overly optimistic specs.
