AMA Superbike: 2012 Daytona Results

Josh Hayes and Blake Young picked things up where they left off by trading wins at the 2012 season-opening AMA Superbike round at Daytona International Speedway. Reigning champion Hayes of Monster Energy Graves Yamaha took the first race handily, leading almost right from the start of the 15-lap race for the win. Yoshimura Suzuki’s Young, who finished second to Hayes in the 2011 AMA Superbike Championship, responded by taking the second race, but only by a slim 0.002-second margin.

Kawasaki Teases Street-Legal Ninja H2 for EICMA + Video

Kawasaki has released a new teaser video offering the first glimpse of the Ninja H2, the street-legal version of the supercharged Ninja H2R track bike recently revealed at Intermot in Cologne, Germany. The video shows the two machines side by side while posing the question: “track or street?” Discuss this at our Kawasaki Ninja H2 Forum. 2011 Kawasaki ZX-10R – 170 hp At The Wheel!

A new, somewhat clandestine, video surfaced on YouTube just today revealing that Kawasaki’s new 2011 ZX-10R produces over 170 hp at the rear wheel in stock trim. Taking this at face value, that’s at least 17 hp more than the 2010 ZX-10R produced for us in our 2010 Literbike Shootout. This puts the new big Ninja within swinging distance of BMW’s S1000RR, that in the same shootout gave us just under 176 hp.
