Indian Other description

1950 Indian motorcycle with vertical 149 cc engine. I have had this bike for awhile with all of the intentions of finishing the restoration, making a few changes, and riding, however, we now have another baby on the way and I simply don’t have the time. (Other things are taking priority.) It runs great but needs adjustments made to the carburetor and a few other odds and ends to be road worthy. From my research, it appears to be a 250 frame with a 149 vertical motor. The motor's number plate is still blank from the factory. A classic bike that is very rare and is in nice condition. Please contact me with any questions before purchase. There is not a title recorded for this bike--bill of sale. This should make a fun bike to ride when finished!

Indian Announces Two-Tone Paint Schemes For 2015 Lineup

Mon, 14 Jul 2014

Indian Motorcycle, America’s first motorcycle company, announced today in a sneak preview of its model year 2015 lineup that the new model year would also bring a return of the classic two-tone paint scheme the early Indians were known for. The much anticipated vintage paint palettes were on-display over the weekend for fans of classic motorcycles at Vintage Motorcycle Days 2014 in Lexington, Ohio. The iconic two-tone schemes will build on the overwhelmingly positive response to the current 2014 Chief range, known for its hi-torque Thunder Stroke 111 motor and precise handling, thanks to Indian Motorcycle’s sand-cast aluminum frame technology.

1916 Indian Board Track Racer

Tue, 12 Mar 2013

The simplicity of this 1916 Indian Board Track Racer is what makes it so beautiful. Board Track was popular during the early part of the 20th century where cars and motorcycles competed at these stadiums where the surface was composed of wooden boards. It was an idea copied from velodromes used across Europe for bicycle racing and ultimately led to the oval racing phenomenon - like NASCAR - that still captivates Americans today.

Indian FTR Carbon

Sun, 17 May 2020

Indian FTR Carbon differs from the base model in the wide use of carbon fiber parts: the false tank and air filter housing, headlight housing, decorative passenger seat cover and front fender are made of carbon fiber. The motorcycle also has an Akrapović exhaust system made of titanium alloy. Otherwise, the Indian FTR Carbon is completely identical to the S-version of the FTR 1200.
