Husqvarna to Race Moto3 in 2014

Husqvarna announced it will enter the 2014 Moto3 World Championship, fielding Danny Kent and Niklas Ajo in the 250cc road racing class. The team will be sponsored by energy drink maker Red Bull, which means the team won’t be lacking in funds. Husqvarna did not mention the motorcycle the team will use, but with the company now owned by KTM Chief Executive Officer Stefan Pierer, the Red Bull Husqvarna team will use machines similar to KTM’s winning Moto3 racer.

This weekend, during the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross races at Unadilla, the Legends and Heroes of Motocross tour will honor former pro motocross local, Pat Maroney. A meet and greet autograph signing with the champ will also take place at the Legends and Heroes tour display after the first rounds of the 250 and 450 events. The BMW Group has announced the sale of 110-year old Husqvarna Motorcycles to Austrian-based Pierer Industrie AG. “The BMW Group signed a purchase agreement with Pierer Industrie AG (Austria) for the acquisition of Husqvarna Motorcycles. The acquisition will proceed subject to approval by anti-trust authorities.
