2014 AMA Supercross – Indianapolis Results

Ryan Dungey captured his first win of the 2014 AMA Supercross season in a wild main event that saw two of the top title contenders crashing on the starting straight at Indianapolis‘ Lucas Oil Stadium. Smartop MotoConcepts Suzuki rider Mike Alessi took the holeshot for the second race in a row, but the big news was incoming points leader Ryan Villopoto and Ken Roczen going down before the first turn. Roczen trailed Villopoto by nine points going into the Indianapolis round, but the KTM rookie’s hopes of overtaking the reigning champion took a blow when he went down on the straight, knocking Villopoto off in the process.

Tom Sykes and Loris Baz captured a pair of one-two finishes for Kawasaki at England’s Donington Park. The first race saw the reigning World Superbike champion fight his way up from 11th place for the win while Race 2 offered a three-way battle between the two Kawasaki riders and Aprilia‘s Sylvain Guintoli. Pedrosa Staying with Repsol Honda Through 2016 MotoGP Season

Honda has signed Dani Pedrosa to a two-year contract extension that will see the Spanish racer stay with its factory MotoGP team through the 2016 season. By the end of the contract, Pedrosa will have spent a whole decade racing for Honda in the premier class to go with another five seasons in the 125cc and 250cc classes. The signing follows a similar two-year contract extension for Pedrosa’s teammate, the reigning World Champion Marc Marquez while over in the Yamaha camp, Valentino Rossi also recently signed a two-year contract extension, making 2016 the year to watch for silly season drama.
