1980 Honda CT (1980)
Up for auction is a vintage 1980 Honda CT110 Trail 110 motorcycle. Overall I'd say the bike is in good condition besides a few imperfections. The front right fork boot is torn (as seen in pics), there is a small section missing from the lower left side of the fairing (as seen in pics), front brake is a bit stiff but frees up once moved, front brake switch wire is broken (as seen in pics), back right blinker mount is cracked and held on with a bit of tape and it leaks fuel from the carb fuel shut off when turned on. I picked this 110 up a couple years ago with another matching 1980 110 (also up for auction) but between other projects I haven't had anytime for it so it has sat in my insulated garage since. It was running when purchased but since sitting it isn't at the moment. I'm assuming the carb is a lil dirty from sitting and the small fuel leak mentioned earlier could have something to do with it too. Does kick over and shift through all gears perfectly fine. No visible rust besides on the chain. Seat is in good shape with no marks or tares. Includes 1 key along with original factory spare fuel canister on back left corner. Front tire is dry rotted and cracked (as seen in pics) but I have a brand new tire for it that is included in the sale. No oil leaks as far as I can see. Like I said I haven't done anything with this bike since buying it so what is listed is to the best of my knowledge. I cant imagine it taking much to get this bike back up and going again since most things listed are very minor repairs/maintenance. Bike does NOT have a title but I was told it was clear when purchased. I can include a bill of sale with purchase if requested. Motorcycle is sold as is. Any questions or you would like more pictures of the bike feel free to ask. Thanks for looking *I did receive a question from a buyer in regards to the condition of the inside of the fuel tank, unfortunately for some reason my message was not going through to them so I decided to post it on the page for everyone to see since I'm sure others will also be curious. There is zero rust inside the tank as far as I can see and it also appears to been re-coated on the bottom (as seen in pics). Overall it is in very good condition.2016-07-31 04:44:47Plattsmouth, Nebraska, United States13100 -
1980 Honda CT (1980)
Up for auction is a vintage 1980 Honda CT110 Trail 110. Overall I'd say the bike is in good condition besides one spot on the left side air box where the paint is cracked/chipping (see pics), a small piece missing from the lower left side of the fairing (see pics) and the small plastic choke lever on the side of the carb is broken (still works though). I picked this 110 up a couple years ago with another matching 1980 110 (also up for auction) but between other projects I haven't had anytime for it so it has sat in my insulated garage since. Does start up and shift through gears perfectly fine. It weeps a bit of oil out the exhaust port when running but goes away once warmed up, assuming the rings are alil worn. No other oil leaks from what I can see and no oil spots while sitting. Does still have original tool kit. Includes 1 key. No visible rust besides some on the chain. Seat is in great shape with no marks or tares. Tires are in good shape with plenty of life left. Like I said I haven't done anything with this bike since buying it so what is listed is to the best of my knowledge. Bike does NOT have a title but I was told it was clear when purchased.2016-07-31 04:44:44Plattsmouth, Nebraska, United States32600 -
1980 Honda CT (1980)
Up for sale is my 1980 Mini Trail 70. I have owned it since 1997, I am the second owner. It was purchased from Milpitas Honda in 1981. It is in perfect running condition. The only thing I have replaced in the last twenty years is oil, gas tank sealant, and a new battery. All else is original like the day it was build. This bike has NOT been restored. This might be one of best unrestored survivor CT-70 in the country. Feel free to contact me with for more pictures, or information. It is street legal with a clear pink slip. I am retired now and it's time to let my baby go to a good home.2016-07-27 04:45:58Pleasanton, California, United States3673718 -

Let's Talk About Dual Clutch Transmissions
Thu, 30 Oct 2025The Dual Clutch Transmission, or DCT, is changing how some riders experience motorcycling—and even helping to attract new riders. On paper, it’s a simple idea—let the computer handle the shifting so the rider can just twist the throttle and go. In practice, it makes a full-size motorcycle behave more like an oversized, high-powered scooter.

These are machines born of obsession, built not for compromise but for the pursuit of speed itself — mechanical expressions of purpose that seize a rider’s mind with outrageous power figures and razor-edged intent. Draped in shimmering bodywork and racing colors, they look fast standing still, daring even the most risk-averse among us to tuck behind the bubble.

The BIG Difference Between the Honda CB750 Hornet and the CB1000 SP
Tue, 09 Sep 2025Tom Roderick spent a day riding the CB1000 Hornet SP and then another on the CB750 Hornet—having the chance to ride the bikes back-to-back makes the differences between the two clear. The 1000 uses an inline four-cylinder with roots in the CBR1000RR, a motor that thrives on revs and rewards a committed hand. It comes wrapped in premium suspension, brakes, and electronics, making it a serious tool when the pace rises and the road opens up.

Since the departure of Honda’s shaft-driven sport-tourers, such as the ST1300 and VFR1200F, Big Red has been out of the road-focused sport-touring game, while aiming much of its efforts at the ever-popular ADV market via its versatile Africa Twin CRF1000L platform. Well, those of the tarmac riding persuasion have a new ST machine to ponder in the NT1100, which borrows core components from the recently revamped Africa Twin range, including its frame, six-axis IMU-supported rider aids, 1,084cc Parallel-Twin engine, and semi-automatic Dual-Clutch Transmission.

With the 2025 Hornet 750, Honda hit the midimalism bullseye. Riding it back to back with the larger CB1000 Hornet SP, the 750 lacks the performance and higher-quality components of its sibling, but it's also a much better all-day mount.

During the Hornet’s press introduction held in California’s capital, Sacramento, Honda representatives confirmed that the bike is built in Japan. A few days later, discussing the Hornet SP with my friend and former MO chief editor, Kevin Duke, he was skeptical, thinking it had to be manufactured in a less-expensive-to-produce country, and rightly so.

2025 Honda NT1100 DCT Review – First Ride
Thu, 22 May 2025Big Red finds its sport-touring roots in the NT1100 DCT Photos by Simon Cudby. Three years ago, those of us with our feet planted on North American soil began counting down what turned from days into months and eventually years before it would be our turn to frolic on Honda's new 17-inch-wheeled sport-tourer. Amongst a sea of ADV and ADV-adjacent offerings, there is a Stateside sect of riders who opine for a roadgoing all-arounder – those doe-eyed hopefuls wave a hearty checklist in hand: sporting ability, touring necessities, and affordability neatly assembled in this carefully balanced package.
