Honda CB description

This is a very nice 1970 CB750. I acquired the unit 8 years ago (still had the Virginia license plate that expired in 1987 on it). I stored it until 2 years ago & had it restored including: New front & rear tires, tubes, rim bands, carburetors rebuilt & synchronized, valves adjusted, engine oil & filter changed, fuel lines & filters, fuel tank flushed, petcock rebuilt, new oem hand grips, fork seals with oil, fork boots, steering head bearing serviced, K&N air filter, new throttle  & clutch cables, new front & rear sprockets & chain, flush/bleed front brake system. I also had the motorcycle painted professionally.... looks AMAZING!. I put less than 100 miles on it & parked it again until last month. The seat cover is cracked & the front fender has several small dings on it (see picture). Just had the carburetors cleaned again & new Yuasa sealed battery. All the lights & electrical work. Have been driving it the last several weeks & get compliments everywhere I go! Runs excellent.

Will the road-going RCV look like this?

Thu, 25 Oct 2012

Honda announced in a dry-as-you-like press release that a new bike was coming.  Not another motorcycle-cum-medical aid like the DN-01 or Integra, this is going to be a proper bike. A bike in a similar vein to previous bikes in the RC series, the RC30, RC45 and RC51, aimed squarely at winning races. So what's it going to look like?

Honda to Compete in 2013 Dakar Rally

Tue, 03 Jul 2012

Honda announced it will enter a works team in the 2013 Dakar Rally‘s motorcycle class, returning to the event for the first time in 23 years. The Japanese manufacturer competed in the Rally from 1981 to 1989 when it was known as the Paris-Dakar Rally. Honda won five times during that period but then stopped entering its own team.

Words fail me. Presumably, if your pockets are deep enough to buy all the engine parts from Kitaco (how about a DOHC four-valve head?), this sort of performance is within the reach of every C90 Honda owner. All those cabbies doing their 'knowledge' would make mincemeat of London traffic with this sort of acceleration.
