This is a very nice 1 owner 1978 Honda CB550 K model bike originally from Madison, WI.
It was taken down to the bare frame as you can see in the photos and given a comprehensive, professional nut & bolt restoration. This is one of hundreds of Honda CB series restorations we have done. You can view our past work here: Instagram.com/MetricClassics FREE SHIPPING TO YOUR DOOR ANYWHERE IN THE CONTINENTAL U.S. Work summary: -Brand new paint on gas tank and side covers with new factory decals -Frame & swing arm stripped, sanded, repainted and clear-coated. -Engine was blasted, repainted in the same factory Honda silver -All aluminum engine covers were removed and polished to a mirror finish -All hardware was stripped and zinc plated -Wheels were disassembled, hubs and brake backing plate polished, spokes stripped and zinc plated, re-laced and trued -New Avon Speedmaster vintage style tires -New rear shocks -New chrome exhaust flanges -Seat reupholstered -New fork seals and fork oil -New handlebars -New Honda factory grips -New clutch and brake levers -New throttle and choke cables -Carburetors ultra-sonic cleaned and rebuilt -New battery -New drive chain -New petcock, fuel lines and fuel filter -New spark plugs, plug boots, oil and oil filter -Wiring harness was removed, soaked in electronics cleaner to remove all dirt and oxidation -Ignition timing tuned, engine valve clearances reset back to correct factory spec -Front brake system disassembled and rebuilt with new Dot3 brake fluid Runs and drives absolutely perfect, charging system, all lights and buttons fully functional. French Moto Website Anticipates Versys 1000 at EICMA 2011
Mon, 24 Oct 2011Musings of a liter-size engined Kawasaki Versys have circulated the web for a few years now, as loyalists of the likable Versys 650, as well as displacement-driven riders waiting in the wings, have pondered the potential of a more powerful adventure bike from Kawasaki that’s in the same league as BMW’s R1200GS and Yamaha’s Super Tenere. Alas, nothing of the sort has ever left the lips of Kawasaki, let alone go into production. Recently, however, the French motorcycle website, Moto-net.com, has produced convincing images that appear like photos of a complete Versys 1000, including matching hard luggage.

Wed, 24 May 2017The first update is related to the kickstarter, or rather, its absence: now the “single-barrel” in the basic version is started by an electric starter with a very light Li-ion battery. The second difference of the newly rejuvenated CRF450R is the suspension with changed settings - obviously, it steers more fun and perky than before.
