Honda CB description

1978 honda hawk. great shape. recent work includes new head gasket, valve cover gasket, fork-seals, kickstarter assembly, rear wheel and tire, throttle push and pull cable, choke cable. both carbs rebuilt.

issues- 1. throttle mount assembly broke 6 months ago. To avoid scrapping entire carb it was fixexd with JB weld apoxy. The fix is working great. 2- while replacing throttle cables 1 bolt head was stripped out. the bolt was removed but havent attempted to replace. It is a 2 bolt system so 1 bolt is still holding it. 3- one of the carb floats doesnt prohibit gas from entering the carb when the bike is off thus it leaks a small drip when not running (solution is to always close the valve on the gas line when done riding.)

5800 miles. you will be hard pressed to find a bike this old in better condition.

. clean title. Pick up only will not ship

Back in the day, the All Japan 500cc Championship at Tsukuba

Fri, 24 Jun 2011

This ‘you tube’ gem sent to me recently brought back some funny memories from the scary but incredibly exciting days of 500cc two stroke racing. Yamaha’s favourite son at the time, ‘tie wrap’ as we liked to call him, was taller and better looking than most Japanese riders (maybe a war baby?) and went on to win nearly everything in Japan during his career.

MotoGP Approves “Factory 2″ Rules

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

We’re just days away from the start of the 2014 MotoGP season and one would think it’s a little late for series organizers to make any significant rule changes. At least, one would think that if one were unfamiliar with the political back-and-forths going on between the major manufacturers and MotoGP promoter Dorna. But with the season-opening Qatar round about to begin, the Grand Prix Commission approved new rules establishing a compromise between the new Factory and Open options.
