With its detachable windshield and saddlebags, the Switchback motorcycle can make the switch from cruising to touring or back in seconds. Easily take them off for a powerful, head-turning street cruiser. Re-attach them for a comfortable, light-handling tourer that definitely goes the distance. And its clean styling brings vintage Harley-Davidson simplicity to today's roads in a look that defines classic: true to its roots yet completely contemporary. The Switchback motorcycle is like having two bikes in one: a union of opposites that makes no compromises.Cast Aluminum Wheels with Full Wrap Fenders: These full fenders do more than keep the mud off during your long-hauls???they add to the Switchback model's unique, classic-contemporary profile. And neither are the 5-spoke hot-rod wheels just for show: they may be eye-catching, but their cast aluminum construction and balanced engineering enhance the bike's confident handling.Heritage Detailing: The Switchback model's classic retro features have a contemporary look that???ll never be lost in the crowd. From its hallmark headlight nacelle and its mini ???ape hanger??? handlebars, to its chromed-out fork covers and tank console with 5-inch speedo. This bike makes a modern visual statement that???s truly rooted in Harley-Davidson heritage.Premium Paint: Up to two times thicker than the competition, custom quality paint comes standard on all Harley-Davidson?® motorcycles. Clearcoat layering up to five mils deep. Bigger metal flakes. Unique effects. Skimping simply is not in our vocabulary.Hand Finished Fuel Tank: All Harley-Davidson?® fuel tanks are finished by hand???that's what makes them stand out. Their seamless design and unmatched style are unique among all motorcycles on the road. The tanks are one of the first and last things people notice when they lay their eyes on a Harley-Davidson?® motorcycle???so we make sure it's a sight they'll remember.

Zero Motorcycles Launches Dealer Network

Tue, 12 Jul 2011

Zero Motorcycles announced a new network of eight dealerships as the electric motorcycle company begins the transition from an online-based sales model to a traditional showroom sales model. Until now, Zero conducts its sales over the Internet with the help of a system of Independent Representatives around the country who use a handful of demo models instead of actual inventory to showcase the brand. As both demand and production have increased, Zero is ready to adopt a new dealer-based model.

Three-Year-Old Motorcycle Prodigy?

Tue, 18 Aug 2009

Even though Tiger woods started paying golf at age two, this story of a three-year-old boy from New Delhi, India is probably just as impressive, maybe more.  Azeem Khan, photographed on the Royal Enfield Bullet above, has been granted a special license by judges in India allowing him to ride his motorcycle on side roads but is not allowed out on the main roads by himself. Khan’s father had to customize the bike so that the young boy could reach the controls and prove that he could handle the motorcycle on his own. I used to sit him on my bike and he would always grab at the controls.

Fundraising Harley Prints By 8-year-old MDA Ambassador On Sale

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

MDA Ambassador Reagan Imhoff wanted the artwork she created with Harley-Davidson designer Mathew Hintz to “raise a lot of money for MDA so we can have more scientists to make medicines.” The original drawing of a purple Harley-Davidson Softail Breakout motorcycle brought in $3500 on August 31 at the MDA auction during the 110th Anniversary Celebration. The pair hopes to raise even more with sales of the limited edition, signed prints, available through www.HintzStudios.com. “I’m happy our artwork raised some money, and hope we sell all of the prints!” said Reagan, who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a painful neuromuscular disease.
