Massimo Tamburini: 1943 – 2014

Massimo Tamburini, creator of some of the industry’s most iconic motorcycle designs, has succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 70. Tamburini was diagnosed with the disease last November and underwent chemotherapy treatment but passed away April 6. Earning renown for designing motorcycles such as the Ducati 916 and the MV Agusta F4, Tamburini’s name will be forever linked with those two companies, as well as Cagiva and helped found Bimota (Tamburini is the “Ta” in the company’s name.) Around the world on a Multistrada

Ever since Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman rode their BMW’s around the world it seems anyone with a ‘GS’ has an open ticket to ride around the world and then write about it. And fair enough, if I could afford the bike and the trip then I’d be gone as well. Obviously, BMW reaped the rewards when Ewan and Charlie showcased what their GS could really do, changing BMW’s image from solid but stuffy, to solid and cool overnight.

Ducati vs Ferrari

The first annual “Ducs Fly South” track day was announced by Ducati North America and will be held at the New Jersey Motorsports Park.  The event is open to street riders and will give the opportunity for you to work with instructors from The Penguin School on the track. Along with the tack experience, you will get a close-up look at the Ducati Hypermotard Truck which will be the home base for product giveaways, a ‘Best Bike’ contest, test rides, a suspension seminar and cold Red Bull.  Larry Pegram, the factory Ducati AMA Superbike rider will be available for autographs and a special question and answer session about his Ducati 1098R Superbikes.
