BMW R-Series description

2012 BMW R1200RT with only 10,100 miles. I purchased the bike two years ago from the original owner (an older lady) in California, and have done a fair bit of traveling around CA and NV with it. Since moving to North Dakota in 2016 I haven't had much free time, so the bike has been sitting in my garage.

Everything on the bike works properly. The motor runs smooth and quiet, shifts are smooth, basically everything works like it's new. The tires Michelin Pilot Roads with a few thousand miles (worn in a nice round profile, so there's a lot of rubber left in the middle). The bike was just serviced and valves checked at 10,000 miles. It also has a brand new battery, installed 11/05/16.

I believe it has every available option:

-Premium paint
-Trip computer
-Heated Grips
-Heated seats (front and rear independently)
-FM and Satellite radio
-Bluetooth
-Cruise control
-ESA II (Electronic Suspension Adjustment), damping is adjustable on-the-fly, and preload is electrically adjustable.
-Matching side cases
-OEM BMW tank bag
-A second "low" drivers seat

The bad news is that it does have a few scratches. The original owner dropped the bike in her driveway. Consequently, the left valve cover and side case have cosmetic scratches on them. There is no functional damage, the side case still closes and locks as it's supposed to.

I have a clean title in hand, in my name. Located in Fargo ND. I would be happy to accommodate a "fly and ride", or may be able to deliver the bike within the continental US for $0.54 per mile.

Thanks for looking. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!

Ohlins Issues Recall Notice For BMW S1000RR And R1200R Steering Dampers

Thu, 15 Aug 2013

Ohlins is issuing a recall notice for select aftermarket steering dampers for the BMW S1000RR and R1200R. The company believes the bracket holding the damper in place to be improperly machined, and a probable material defect in the aluminum alloy could cause stress fractures. Ohlins states that although “there is no risk for losing control during normal riding,” there is a risk the bracket will fail during slow-speed maneuvers, where the bars are turned at maximum steering angle.

French Moto Website Anticipates Versys 1000 at EICMA 2011

Mon, 24 Oct 2011

Musings of a liter-size engined Kawasaki Versys have circulated the web for a few years now, as loyalists of the likable Versys 650, as well as displacement-driven riders waiting in the wings, have pondered the potential of a more powerful adventure bike from Kawasaki that’s in the same league as BMW’s R1200GS and Yamaha’s Super Tenere. Alas, nothing of the sort has ever left the lips of Kawasaki, let alone go into production. Recently, however, the French motorcycle website, Moto-net.com, has produced convincing images that appear like photos of a complete Versys 1000, including matching hard luggage.

Seeley On Form On First Night Of North West 200

Fri, 16 May 2014

Alastair Seeley took a double in the Ballymoney Borough council Supersport and Pirtek Superstock events at the start of racing at the Vauxhall International North West 200 this evening, what many “real” road racers refer to as the precursor to the Isle Of Man TT. In the Supersport race, the ‘Wee Wizard’ survived being caught up in a first lap crash at York hairpin that left him languishing in 16th to come through and win the opening race of the night on his Mar-Train Yamaha R6. Lee Johnston was the rider who went down in the first lap crash, causing Seeley to take evasive action to avoid going down himself.
