BMW R-Series description

I am selling this for a friend who due to medical reasons can no longer ride. The bike is imaculate other than the brake fluid stain seen in the photos on the tank. I am not sure if this might be able to be buffed out. Extras on the bike are leather saddle bags, mirror like chrome engine guards and windshield. From its inception, the R1200C featured a passenger seat that could fold up to become a driver backrest with three different angles, adjustable while riding. Because he can't ride he is also including a xxl jacket, xxl gloves and xxl helmet along with a motorcycle garage jack new and still in the box. This was always garaged... NEVER ridden in the rain and was his pride and joy which he cared for with kid gloves. This bike was seen in the James Bond film TOMORROW NEVER DIES. The location is in sequim washington which is on the olympic penninsula. here are some specs: Engine and transmission Displacement: 1170.00 ccm (71.39 cubic inches) Engine type: Two cylinder boxer, four-stroke Power: 61.00 HP (44.5 kW)) @ 5000 RPM Torque: 98.00 Nm (10.0 kgf-m or 72.3 ft.lbs) @ 3000 RPM Top speed: 170.0 km/h (105.6 mph) Valves per cylinder: 4 Cooling system: Air Gearbox: 5-speed Transmission type, final drive: Shaft drive (cardan) Chassis, suspension, brakes and wheels Front brakes: Dual disc Rear brakes: Single disc Physical measures and capacities Dry weight: 239.0 kg (526.9 pounds) Power/weight ratio: 0.2552 HP/kg Seat height: 740 mm (29.1 inches) If adjustable, lowest setting. More on 2012 BMW S1000RR Recall

Fri, 27 Apr 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced the recall for the 2012 BMW S1000RR, providing more information about the problem. According to documents released by NHTSA, the bolts on the connecting rods in the BMW S1000RR may come loose because of an anti-corrosive agent applied to the bolts. The anti-corrosive agent may effect the bolt torque, potentially leading them to come loose, particularly at high temperatures or rpms.

Firefighting Motorcycle

Fri, 17 Apr 2009

Ever had an officer ask you “where’s the fire?” after being pulled over for speeding?  Well now you have a good excuse. This converted BMW R1200RT has two 20 or 25 liter tanks (contain a premix of water and foam) mounted on either side that is connected to a 6.8 liter compressed air tank on the back of the bike that has a 20 to 30 meter hose. They are currently being used in the U.K.

BMW Maintains Sales Momentum into 2014

Tue, 11 Feb 2014

After three straight years of record motorcycle sales, you’d think things would eventually start slowing down for BMW. Instead, the German manufacturer continues to roll on the throttle with an impressive start to 2014. BMW announced sales of 5,438 motorcycles and scooters in January, up from the 4,818 motorcycles sold in the same month in 2013.
