This is a European model imported from Germany - speedo is in KM. I purchased this bike this past riding season, put $1,000 into it and have decided it is not the antique bike for me. 58,000 KM on the clock, speedo works well and everything on the bike works and it's a daily rider. This bike has a dealer replacement engine, so I assume when this bike was new BMW replaced the engine through a dealer. Frame and nameplate match. Comes with a set of Krauser bags. Serviced in June - new filters, fluids, valve adjustments, fork oil, etc. The bike is in good condition and reasonably priced considering some of the barn finds I've seen for sale at $3,000 plus. Crafted from breathable, tough Cordura 500 fabric, the GS Dry Suit is ready to take on any weather and terrain, featuring a wind and waterproof C.A.R.E Climate membrane and BMW Motorrad’s own NP protectors. Further small, but welcome, design touches include stretch inserts, air vents, reflective panels, leather paneling on high-wear areas on the legs and a selection of internal and external waterproof pockets. Michelin Launches New Pilot Road 4 Sport-Touring Tire
Fri, 22 Nov 2013Coming in 2014 is an all-new range of motorcycle tires from Michelin, available in three versions: the Michelin Pilot Road 4, Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT and Michelin Pilot Road 4 Trail. Covering virtually every category of sport-touring motorcycle, the Pilot Road 4 line is well suited for motorcycles over 600cc. They were designed to deliver maximum safety in the most common conditions of use, especially on wet roads and in particular when braking. In its press release Michelin also claims extended tire life, which we assume is in comparison to the Pilot Road 3.
James Toseland Announces Retirement from Racing
Fri, 09 Sep 2011Two-time World Superbike Champion James Toseland announced his immediate retirement from motorcycle racing due to a debilitating injury to his right wrist. Signed with the BMW Motor Italia racing team, Toseland has been limited to just seven of 20 races in this season’s WSBK Championship due to the wrist injury initially suffered during a private test at Spain’s Aragon circuit in March. After undergoing an operation for the injury, Toseland made two attempts at returning to racing, first at the Miller Motorsports Park round in May and again at the Silverstone round in July.
