Near new tires (at least 10K miles remaining), BMW Garmin Navigator III GPS INCLUDED/RAM mount, with FPO. SIRUS radio power/antenna and IPOD/IPHONE AUX connection. PIAA Auxiliary lights. Tall (installed) and stock factory windshields, bike cover and Kathy's Bag for top case luggage rack. Owned by senior -purchased sight unseen in North Carolina 2 years ago and ridden trouble free across country. Bike is pristine condition (small scratch on right side bag from tip over). Color is Dark graphite metallic. Always garaged. Wife no longer rides with me so bike is sitting idle. 24K service and all annual/semi annual maintenance just completed - that includes engine service and changing all fluids(clutch/brake/engine/tran/drive). BMW Posts Record First-Half Figures

BMW Motorrad sold a record 60,580 motorcycles over the first six months of 2011, a new record for the German manufacturer. First half figures were 6.3% higher than the 57,015 units sold in the same period in 2010. BMW reports strong demand across all its models, with the Boxer engine R-series models leading the way.

With 193 crankshaft horsepower and a claimed dry weight of 404 pounds, BMW says the S1000RR has the best power-to-weight ratio of any production bike. And, by the way the S1000 lofts its front wheel onto Portimao’s front straight at 150 mph, we’re becoming believers!

BMW Sells Husqvarna to Pierer Industrie AG

The BMW Group has announced the sale of 110-year old Husqvarna Motorcycles to Austrian-based Pierer Industrie AG. “The BMW Group signed a purchase agreement with Pierer Industrie AG (Austria) for the acquisition of Husqvarna Motorcycles. The acquisition will proceed subject to approval by anti-trust authorities.
