Whenever the calendar shifts to a major Japanese race, such as the Suzuka 8hr, one of the more amusing things to do is glance down the team sheet This years highlight for me has to be team Moto Bum, with other stand outs including aprilia D.D.BOYS, Team Etching Factory Yamaha and MITO MOTO & e'freaks Honda. Looking back through the ages some of the great Japanese team names have been Burning Blood Racing Team, Dog Fight Racing and Team Moto Space amongst others. Video game developer Digital Tales is seeking backers to crowdfund an officially-licensed World Superbike Championship mobile game. Like most crowdfunding projects, Digital Tales is offering a number of incentives based on how much a donor pledges. For the SBK14 Mobile game, the top tier pledge nets the donor a package of prizes including special edition Aprilia RSV4 SBK personally delivered by Marco Melandri at the Laguna Seca Superbike round.

FIM Updates Superbike Racing Homologation Lists for 2013

The International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) has released an updated list of motorcycles homologated for the 2013 Superbike, Supersport, and Superstock racing season. Notable additions include the new BMW S1000RR HP4, the MV Agusta F3 and the Superbike-spec Ducati 1199 Panigale R. To qualify a production-based racebike for FIM homologations, manufacturers have to meet certain production thresholds.
