This is a 1968 Ducati 350 Scrambler. I purchased the bike from the original owner in March, 2000 and started the restoration at that time. The restoration was finished about 6 months later so you could say this is an "older restoration" bike. When I purchased it the original odometer said 8340 miles and now reads 9454 miles. However, I just recently installed a new-old-stock speedometer and cable because the original speedo needle would wave back and forth 5 to 10 mph when ridden. The new speedo has 12 miles on it and the needle is rock steady. So, total miles since the restoration and in the last 16 years are 1126 miles.
This Ducati runs beautifully, it starts on the first or second kick every time. The sprockets have been changed to match the Ducati road bike gearing of the time and with the 5-speed gearbox it will pull up to 80 - 85 mph with no problem and run very nicely at 60 - 65 mph. This is a true rider's vintage bike. Everything works - lights, hi-low beam, brake light, horn, etc, etc.

Recent work done (last 6 months):
  • Freshened up the top end - Pulled the head, honed the cylinder and installed new piston rings.
  • Ground the valves and installed new valve seals.
  • installed new crankshaft and timing gear LH threaded nuts and lock washers.
  • Replaced all associated gaskets.
  • Rebuilt the Dellorto carb.
  • Replace fuel hoses.
  • Installed new-old-stock Tommaselli throttle assembly and cable.
  • Installed new-old-stock Gran Tourismo grips (like the originals).
  • Installed new Silentium muffler ordered from Italy.
  • Installed new points and condenser, static timed the ignition with a degree wheel and checked the advance with a strobe light.
  • Checked charging system - charging 8 to 8.5 volts with no lights and 7 to 7.5 volts with lights on.
  • Installed new-old-stock CEV hi-low beam/horn switch.
  • Installed new-old-stock speedometer and cable. (Original speedo will be included in the sale).
  • Changed fork oil.
  • Replaced air filter and rubber bellows from air cleaner to carb.
  • Replaced crankcase breather hose.
  • Changed engine oil (forth time it was changed in the last 1000 miles).
During the original restoration the following was done:
  • Frame was repainted.
  • Gas tank repainted and sealed with POR 15 (the color is a dark cherry red metallic with hand laid gold pinstripes. The photos do not do it justice).
  • New-old-stock pattern stainless steel fenders installed.
  • Forks rebuilt.
  • Swing arm bushings and pivot replaced and reamed to correct tolerance.
  • Correct fork and shock absorber boots installed
  • Rewired the entire bike.
  • Installed new voltage rectifier.
  • Installed new-old-stock ignition switch and knob type key from a BMW /6. First position is Ignition ON, second position is Ignition ON with lights.
  • Installed new oil filter screen.
  • Replaced all cables.
  • Installed new chain and sprockets.
  • Installed new Conti Twins tires (the tires are starting to show their age however they have many miles left in them).
  • The seat is original and shows some very slight flaws but was too nice to replace.

There is probably something I am missing but this about covers it. This is a great bike for the Ducati Single enthusiast, or for someone wanting a first Ducati Single. It is all there, ready to ride and reliable. I have been a professional mechanic for 30+ years and this Ducati has been my personal pride and joy (among many bikes) for 16 years... but now it is time to move on to something else.

The sale will include a brand new SAFA (Made in Italy) dry charged 6-volt battery. The battery will need to have acid added and be slow charged. This battery matches the original factory battery and looks great in a vintage bike.

I believe the starting and Buy it Now prices are very reasonable considering this bike is turn-key, ready to ride and looks great. You can pay that much for a Ducati Single that needs work - this one doesn't.

A $500 non-refundable deposit through PayPal is required at auction end with the remaining balance to be paid within 7 days. I accept cash or bank certified check that will need to clear prior to release of the motorcycle. Pickup, transport, shipping arrangements, etc. is the sole responsibility of the buyer, however I can and will be available to meet a shipper and help with loading at my location.

Outside USA bidders note - These same terms apply, no special accommodations will be made for bidders from outside the USA . If you cannot meet these terms, please do not bid.

I have a clear Washington State title in my name and it currently has a collector license plate so if you live in WA there will be no need for yearly license tabs.

The bike is listed for sale elsewhere and I reserve the right to stop the auction at any time whether a bid is placed or not. I welcome an in person inspection of the motorcycle.
